Hi All!

I'm quite a novice when it comes to curved automation.

Was wondering how people find it compared to linear. Can you hear the difference (I've heard you can excuse the pun)?

Which types do you use the most and do they differ depending what you're automating?

Some daw's have varying amounts of curves too.

Reason - 2 curve types (Linear and I think Bezier)
Cakewalk By Bandlab - 3
Studio One - 7
FL Studio - 11

Thanks!

With a strong enough curve, the difference is definitely noticeable as opposed to a linear one.

Hekkräiser (experimental) | MFG38 (electronic/soundtrack) | The Santtu Pesonen Project (metal/prog)

Or it has 8 (it's actually 8 not 7) ways you can adjust / draw the curve or line though.

Those are automation shapes, because S1 doesn't have modulation. There's only one type of curve, IMO.
