Hi everybody :D

I really hope someone has an idea on how to help me and that I chose the right thread.

Here is my problem: whenever my new audio interface (Scarlett Solo) is plugged into my computer the replay of both midi and audio in Ableton crackles. I tried midi in the session view and vocal recordings in the session view. I am listening via headphones that are plugged in directly into my computer, not in the interface as I am still waiting for an adapter.

There is no consistency in the disruptive noise. Sometimes it's in the very beginning of the song, at other times it starts later. The noise is gone once I unplug the interface.

Once I export the song and play the exported file it sounds clean.

I use Focusrite USB ASIO, Ableton Live Intro 10 and changing the buffer size of the recordings did not help.
There are no crackling noises while recording in Audacity with the same setup.
What can I do?

Thanks in advance :phones:

Check the size of the audio buffer. If it's too small (64-128 samples or below), depending on your computer specs, audio glitches may occur.

Additionally to that, if you're plugging your headphones to the computer, you're not utilizing the audio interface itself. You are using whatever integrated sound card your computer has.
