Hi all,
Some months ago I spoke with @noiseboyuk about building an app to solve a long-standing problem with third-party Omnisphere libraries: non-standard tagging.
Each developer has their own convention for Categories, Types, Keywords, etc... which means that nice soundset you just bought can easily get buried in Omnisphere's patch browser. You may even forget you bought it.
Enter OmniTag...
OmniTag automatically categorizes your third party libraries using metadata contained within each patch. The idea is that there is generally enough data in a patch to determine if it belongs in 'Synth Bass' or 'Pads + Strings' or <whatever>, so OmniTag examines that and matches to Spectrasonics' standard categories / types. The result is your third party libraries are now 'conformed' to Spectrasonics' standards and are easily searchable in the Patch Browser.
Retail is USD $49.95, but I am offering USD $29.95 for the Mac launch.
OmniTag is now available for Mac and Windows.
More info can be found at https://www.omnitag.net
Here are a few screenshots...

I am super interested in this if it actually does it correctly since I have this "differential tagging" all the time with my 3rd party libraries. The worst is the way different developers label the "ARPs", so their are categories called "ARPs", "ARPs+BPM", "ARPs and Rhythmn", "Arp" and "ARPS". So I have many patches that should be in one place, all over the place.

Hi Joaquin - yes, that's exactly what this was created to fix - check out the walkthroughs
I first asked about this over a year ago, and Marcus here kindly took it on as a project. The end result is so much better than I imagined - I figured it would be some kludgey thing that was better than manually trying to patch things up, but this is incredibly clever with almost no effort from the user at all. Am forever in Marcus' debt!

Looks very interesting. Really would be nice if it was available for mac too.
Quick question.
I only looked at the Basic.
What does it do with Patch Ratings.. That is if I it the patch had a 4 star rating and OmniTag changes its name, will the 4 star rating be automatically assigned to the renamed patch?

I know how much you Love Spectrasonics tagging system.
But this doesn't change that tagging system, correct? It just conforms Third party Libraries to follow it. Correct?
edit: (ahh you even did a tutorial for it )

Yes, it just conforms the third party patches to Spectrasonics' standards. Shouldn't have any impact on ratings (it doesn't touch that), but I will double-check and verify to be 100% certain.zvenx wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 2:22 pm When I saw it, you ran immediately to mind

So even renamed patches that say may have BPM as part of their titled and now removed, it doesn't change their ratings?
And I am off to buy it.....
I am on both mac and pc.
If I buy it now, whenever the mac one is done do I get that one without additional cost too?

Matt, were you involved too?
It does look very useful..
Might be worth it to use it on your libraries and provide and update for purchasers?

Correct. That is the exact test I ran - I started with a patch called 'BASS - Hardsynchonizer', gave it 5 stars, then ran OmniTag, which changed it to 'Hardsynchronizer' and kept the 5 stars intact. Also tested with 2 or 3 other patches and no changes to stars.
Of course.

More info: There is a patch attribute called 'Rtng=5' (or 0, 2, 3, whatever) that stores the patch rating. OmniTag doesn't touch this.marclawsonmusic wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 3:30 pm Correct. Over 12500 patches were "conformed" for me. Also, just a FYI, the bonus library wasn't in the download.
