Scripting Automation Values?

I'm currently using Cubase (considering switching to Nuendo) and I'm working on a project that will include a lot of precise automation of 3rd party VSTs. If I had the ability to script the values programmatically, rather than keying/drawing them all in manually, I could save myself a TON of work. (Ideally, I'd love to have something like After Effect's ability to cross script values between tracks, but I imagine that's asking far too much...)

Is anything like this possible in Cubase/Nuendo through the use of 3rd party plugins? Or, if not in Steinberg products, are there any other DAWs that allow script access to automation values?
