Breakbeats?

Don't kill me, I tried doing a search but didn't come up with what I wanted, well I got one lead but maybe I'll get more if I ask.
So once again I'm on the hunt for some live acoustic breaks, but I'm having a rough time finding what I'm looking for, I'm not sure it really exists. Something like a collection of classic breaks. Yes there's plenty of acoustic drum breaks out there in the funk style.. but I'm looking for a one stop shop kind of thing. The problem with these packs is they all seem to be recorded in one day with one kit, and different beats performed on that one kit. This is all good and great and definitely has it's place and should exist... it's not necessarily what I want. the great thing about classic breaks is that you're getting different drummers on different kits recorded in different studios with different equipment. The sound you get is incredibly varied. What I'm looking for is some sort of anthology I guess that has a bunch of eclectic acoustic drum loops. I don't need variations and such I'm just going to chop and splice and layer them with drum machines and drum samples that I've sequenced. I need stuff a lower tempos I'm not planning on doing DnB (although I might get to some of that eventually), but more beats like old school breaks or nuskool before everything was all sequenced. I guess I could just use classic breaks, but hoping for something a bit fresher and I want to respect copyrights.
Also if someone could recommend a good collection of fills too that would be nice, I have some but more is always better with that.

Have a search for the old ZeroG stuff like Xstatic Goldmine and the Jungle Warfare stuff. The old ELab Vinylistics series was pretty good too, and Big Fish Audio had a pretty good library called Breakbeat.
I have these on CD from way back when, but you may be able to find them online with a bit of searching.

Some old computer music issue also had tons of breaks. Sampleradar has smaller versions of it for free.

Submersible Music's Drumcore might provide what you're looking for. It has loops from a bunch of different drummers which you can sync to host temp, etc.
Also check out Loop Loft's drum series.

Sample Magic has some vey authentic sounding, royalty-free breakbeats with tons of character. Plus they are having a 70% off, site-wide sale.

I usually head to Splice once every few months and go through their offerings.
Set the Loops & One-Shots field to just Loops, set Instrument to Drums. Tag search for "breaks" and "acoustic" or "live sounds". Put the sorting on Random and tap the down arrow key on your keyboard until you hear something good. Usually the "breaks" tag means you'll get the full mixdown, not some individual stems.
Now Splice does have some of those collections you mentioned of the same drummer on the same kit, but you can just download the three or four best beats in that collection and ignore the rest.
My favorite collections are the Sample Magic ones mentioned above, but you'd be surprised how many have a good selection of breaks despite being mostly chaff.

Thanks for the tips! I'll take a look at Zero G again it's been a while but I remember getting jungle warfare way back and was disappointed that they took the liberty of speeding the breaks up. lol I wonder if they can even sell that stuff anymore sounded like mashed up classic breaks to me. I'll have to dig out my my cd's I have a bunch of computer music discs, I do remember a pack in there I liked... had something to do with the word monkey I think. Monkey audio or something like that. Geared toward straight rock but I need that too can't just have funky stuff. And I forgot all about sample magic I think they had something that looked really good a while back, now might be the right time to hit them up. I've gotten a bunch of great one shots from the CM discs I'll have to look at their backlog I stopped getting it regularly a while ago. Bespoke breaks was good I wonder if that's what you are thinking of. Typically I just take the one shots from packs like that in CM the loops are usually just those sequenced. Drumcore sounds really familiar, that might be one of the ones I've been trying to remember too.
Truly, thanks everyone for the suggestions I really appreciate it

Looks like splice is a winner, the sounds sample magic has to offer sound great, and it appears their entire catalog is on splice plus more so it's kind of a no-brainer! Thanks lionsaw! I'm sure splice will come in really handy once I get my Polyend Tracker, lot's of fun to be had in that box me thinks.

I sell a bunch of sample packs of acoustic breaks played on different kits ... but they're all played by the same drummer over a period of 9 years or so (except for the free Gretsch Drums). Anyway, there's a Drum Loops link in my sig with some audio demos if you're interested.theorize wrote: Fri May 22, 2020 3:56 am So once again I'm on the hunt for some live acoustic breaks, but I'm having a rough time finding what I'm looking for

I'm a drummer and highly recommend his products. I perused what he has available and the collection is beyond reproach. My only qualm was that I have an earlier version of Ableton for some of the sampler sets (and rarely use ableton).thecontrolcentre wrote: Fri May 22, 2020 9:40 pmI sell a bunch of sample packs of acoustic breaks played on different kits ... but they're all played by the same drummer over a period of 9 years or so (except for the free Gretsch Drums). Thanks man. You don't need Live to use the drum loops as they're all wav files, but you will need Live to use the Instrument Packs. The lowest version supported is mentioned in the pack descriptions.kingozrecords wrote: Fri May 22, 2020 10:20 pmI'm a drummer and highly recommend his products. Your packs do look very good, over time I will be getting them for sure, for right now I went with splice it seemed to be the most bang for my buck... seeing as I just dropped $400 on bitwig I need to cool it on the spending for now, but every now and then I'll pick up one of your packs... I'm of the view that you can never have too many drum loops.
