It's not small by modern standards and weighs a ton.
I bought busted FW1884 with intentions to repair, narrowed it to that the firewire cable was plugged in upside down and the chip burnt out. The only place I can find the firewire chip is 1 guy in the states with the postage making it basically 4 times the price of the original part.
If that fails I will either sell the motorized faders or convert into motor fader surface on my of own,
plenty of insiparation on midibox/ucapps (http://www.ucapps.de) although ucapps is a bit dated at this stage and different approach (eg. via Pi or Arduino) may be more suitable in regards to compatibility, I feel more close to the ucapps projects.
Will see how it goes. If it that fails I may just shell out for for Icon platform M or similar.
