I work with some larger sound libraries, such as the Boom-libraries.

E.g. Boom includes file metadata, but reading the metadata and using it for the proper sound search is s challenge using my DAW (Live) basic search. Live includes just a basic search by the file name.

There are more sophisticated search tools that can also read embedded metadata. The most common audio management tools may be Soundminer and Basehead.

Your experience of these?

I notice, that the Soundminer is mostly for the Mac. I’m on the Win 10.

Do you recommend using some of these audio management tools? Which ones?
Which ones can I use these inside the Win DAW/Live?

I'm using Loopcloud to manage my samples. I noticed Ableton Live doesn't like huge amounts of files in the library.

i've been using basehead for a couple of months now, and dig it. it doesn't have a straight integration with live though.

i think you can demo it, check out if it works for you.
