I want to get an auto swell (violining) effect for my virtual guitars, like often heard on many Allman Brothers lead guitar solos.
I tried a couple of auto swell products from PechenegFX, the free version doesn't work at all, and when I paid for the Pro version, I got ripped off. I paid via Paypal (confirmed) but did not receive any links or emails on how to download the product.
The sound I'm looking for is played in the beginning of this video. But since I'm using a virtual guitar, I don't have a physical volume knob. Just looking for a plugin that will emulate this. Thanks!

I play guitar and use the technique a lot. The best would be volume automation in your DAW, without needing any extra plugins. But if you want it to happen in real time, there's not much to choose from. I know about the Pecheneg plugins but I've never tried them, although I love the Pecheneg tremolo plugin.

Based on that discussion, if you're using Logic, seems like the Enveloper might work. Maybe there's something comparable in your toolset if you are not?
Airwindow's swell might do it.

shit, why dont u look at midi envelopes , modulate attack to volume. if in ableton u can do dis and i think cable guys have a plugin for it

Volume automation as it has been said. With an auto swell you have to adjust the duration of the swell to a fixed value. But playing guitar the swell duration is not always the same, look at the video, he adapts it every time. One note, slow swell, several notes, fast swells.

Pardon my ignorance, but can't you just use Gate in parallel with extremely high attack time?
