Anyone here who work half or full-time selling stock music? Any tips and insights?

Quite some moons ago (guesstimate: one year) wagtunes had this endeavour discussed over the course of a hundred pages or so. There were some concrete links to follow.

I have never bothered though seriously looked a while back and know people who have done similar for a while. What put me off - you have to churn stuff out and you have to be in it for the long term. I would think a piece a day minimum, and a few years for income to gather steam. And you have to be incredibly conventional musically. But within that, if you did this in the context of a production partnership so it was a bit of fun with a friend then I think it could be okay.

cheap music for films/docus n stuff.
tends to be a lot of "written in the style of.." and mood based stuff.
so that filmmakers can for example have a song that sounds like another hit song, without paying massive royalties.
if you can churn out a lot of different styles convincingly you could do ok, but if youre good at one genre forget it.
