I'm just demoing a very cpu intensive vst. I noticed that it crackles badly with hyperthreading turned on. Is this because I've got something set up wrong, or haven't installed a service pack?

My RME card wouldn't work right until I went to service pack II (Win2K). However, I might also suggest upgrading to XP Pro...

Has anyone found that enabling hyperthreading give a significant performance increase for audio applications? Or, is it just not worth it?
