I've set up a limited account for the mrs, so she can use the net and e-mail etc, but i cannot get IE to access the net. Any tips?

the email account works, i tried it on my account.

be gentle, i have no idea what im doing.

Basically, she just need net browsing and email, not access to my files or any other gubbins

First thing I'd try is to delete all temporary internet files in Internet Options and restart IE.

Failing that, check your IE settings for proxy servers and such.

she's getting a laptop for uni in the next few weeks, but i dont think she can connect to the net from that using the same braodband modem as me....

perhaps she may..if her laptop has got a network (forgot the word - but a slot in the back to plug in the cable) then you'd just need a router.
occassionally I'll bring in my laptop and plug in the long cable plug and drag it in the living room.
