Calculate !!!

Frequency = cycles per sec, so divide the sampling frequency by your nr. of samples in one cycle (top to top or zero-crossings) and that's the frequency in Hz.

The center-A is at 440 Hz. For each subsequent semi-tone you multiply or divide by 2 ^ (1/12) (roughly 1.059463) so after 12 semi-tones you're exactly at the double (or half) frequency.

Try to match the calculated frequency of your WAV to the calculated scale and you know weather it's in or out of tune.

Suppose you have a WAV loop of 50 samples at 44.1KHz it will cycle 882 times each second. The nearest tuned tone is a high A at 880Hz so your tone is 2Hz off key.
