Sounds great - reminds me of the Lexicon LXP-5 (concerning the pitch functions)

What other reverbs have a frequency shift mode? I sounds cool. The "Dark Whispers" preset on a Zebra 2 saw made me think of Aparillo's default patch. Modulating the frequency shifter makes for some unholy nastiness, in a great dystopic sci-fi horror way.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Wormhole has a reverb in it; that's one. I messed around with putting a frequency shifter before some of my reverbs, and there is potential there, but it didn't sound as sublime as when I messed with the frequency in Irid on the "Dark Whispers" setting.
But I have so many reverbs. Then again, this one isn't too pricey. It's only wafer thin.

Absolutely awesome plugin ! I started with a piano and ended up with some random metallic (but fully controllable) textures. This will be my horror machine ! Purchased ! Love this !

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

Not a bad shimmer plugin per say but competition is pretty fierce on that level with already very solid shimmer reverbs from Eventide (Shimmer), Valhalla (Shimmer), Sinevibes (Luminance), Audiority (Polaris) to name a few... For me Irid arrived too late to the party since I already own a few shimmer plugins, definitely no need for another one that is going to collect dust after a few weeks.
Still, good luck Tritik with Irid, it's sounds pretty cool.

I could only (directly) compare the sound with ValhallaShimmer, which sounds a lot more noisy and heavily modulated, which is not really a bad thing, and it adds a lot of texture to the sound.
Irid on the other side sounds crystal clear with the pitch-shited loops, and eventually you can add some dirt with little amounts of frequency-shifting.
Having three separate paths with variable amounts of pitch/frequency shifting, puts this above any other shimmer reverb in terms of versatility and sound shaping (except for MTurboReverb, completely different workflow and price-range).
My only disappointment is modulation being relegated to a single knob. I'm sure a lot of attention was put into this knob to find the sweet spots between depth and rate, but being free to set the two independently would have granted way higher versatility.
Low rate and hi-mid depth (my favorite for this kind of stuff) doesn't seem to be really achievable with a single modulation knob, at least as I picture it.
As dumb as it might sound, I've tried to put a chorus after reverb (Irid), and got interesting results with some added modulation and stereo width.
After ValhallaShimmer, no other shimmer reverb quite convinced me in terms of sound and feature-set, but I'm 99% buying Irid within the intro-price period.
(and actually I've been meaning to also buy Moodal in a while, 100% getting it on the next sale)

I get that Irid could have more parameters, functions, which we can say about a lot of products out there. But Moodal feels complete to me, for what it is supposed to do, and Krush can do a lot for a free plugin. I haven't tried their other plugins.resistent wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 1:51 am But it feels somehow like an unfinished product (as so often sadly from Trikit).

I tried irid against xenoverbs shimmer algo and thought it sounded considerably smoother. Xeno has two pitch shifters too but they don't seem as effective as irids for some reason, seem to get smoother, more distinct result with irid.

Demo sounds promising, same as my favorite #kiwi sound - designer being involved. Another weekend saved, by one of my favorite devs. Looking #ffw to try it out, extensively.
