Hi Everyone
Does anyone have any idea on how to obtain a copy of Alchemy, the full synth not the player? I know it lives on in Apple Logic but I do not have a MAC and do not plan on getting one any time soon.
It does show up on some web stores when doing a Google search but all of the links I have found are either dead or show it discontinued. Also tried EBay but no luck there. Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Oh it's possible for someone to sell their Windows copy of Alchemy but their personal details are baked into the plugin and show on startup.

If you could find someone who doesn't mind giving up their personal data you might find a copy.

EDIT: I just opened my Alchemy up. I don't remember for sure but I think it used to show our social security number or something similar along with our name and address.

Now it just shows name, 0123456789, name@domain, street,city 0123456 and CA something. So it looks like most of the real personal data is no longer displayed on start up other than name.

I won't sell mine but if you could find someone who wouldn't mind having their name on display you might find someone willing to sell especially during these hard economic times.

The info it shows is enough personal information that an owner certainly shouldn't want it shared. It's YOUR license. Also a recipient may not have qualms about sharing it further since it's not their information being distributed, so you really have no control over all the places it could potentially go. Just a warning. This has come up many times about this synth.

To the OP: Either Mac or other synths. There are plenty of great ones.

Like I said I checked today and all it shows here is my name. Address and any other personal information is no longer displayed.

I suppose that's a bit of a grey area. The EULA is between the original buyer and Camel Audio. Camel Audio is no longer in business so.....

Anyway I wouldn't sell mine because I don't want to let it go. But if someone really wants Alchemy on Windows and someone else really needs the money and wants to sell....

Do you happen to know if the same is true of CamelPhat and CamelSpace? I have my serials for those and older installers but the most recent installers died with a hard drive. If they still use serials I can maybe get the installers from someone. If they were updated to be tied to a particular user, I guess I'm out of luck.

I own CamelSpace and Phat but I haven't had them installed for quite some time. Sorry, I don't remember if they showed personal information or not.

You can find CamelSpace personal info in Menu> About.

The Alchemy signal flow is not complicated.
You can setup a similar workflow in other workstations
Also, the Patchpool Alchemy demos provide good examples

Certainly it's not just about the workflow it's about the quality and character of the OSC's and Filters etc that makes Alchemy what it is. I've always loved the Granular capabilities. Are there alternatives ? Yes but all have their own character.

I think we are talking about two different things
I believe you are talking about the quality of the sound
I am talking about the signal flow as a way of thinking about sound design, and Alchemy has a signal flow that enables a lot of creative thinking

Would really like to get a hold of Alchemy
