Any top shelf suggestions?

I dig Soundtoys, some of the Sugar Bytes stuff, and Twisted Tools. I’m familiar with Glitch, Stutter Edit, & the like. Do you use any that you can’t live without or may not be As well known?

Thx

Ok, I’ll check them out.

Free (or Free-ish): PaulXStretch, Backmask, Mishby, Dumpster Fire, Filterjam, Saturation Knob, Krush, MConvolutionEZ, CamelCrusher, Anarchy Effects, OTT

Cheap (like $50 or less on sale and vouchers, IIRC): SpecOps, MGranularMB, MCharacter, MTransformer, MVocoder, MCombMB, Grainspace, Irid, Moodal, UberMod, Valhalla Delay, Venom, Frostbite, LFOTool, Reels, Speakers, Trash 2, Dent 2

Not Cheap: Morph 2, Wormhole, Uhbik-G, Runciter, Padshop 2, Zebra 2, Form (Reaktor), Harmor, Rapid, The Drop

They aren't all seen as manglers, but they all have the potential to drastically change sound.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Hey, what is that PaulXStretch-like app that is free but only works on Macs? I'd be all over that if I had one.

I really like BYOME, SoundToys, and Permut8. I’m probably more likely to use the first two, though. I don’t know if you use Ableton Live or not, but it’s kind of a toss up between it and FL Studio for glitch right out of the DAW. Not that Logic, Cubase, or Studio One can’t do it either, they’re just not quite as intuitive for that kind of thing (BT used to do all of his glitching by hand in Logic...must have taken forever). There are some really good YouTube videos on how to do it. Ableton is particularly adept at it, since you can mess with the time stretch the Warp modes and even automate it with unlinked clips, and we haven’t even started with Beat Repeat yet! I’ve been messing with Live since 2004 and I still learn new stuff to do with it. I just mess with the VSTs after I’ve exhausted all the other ideas in my DAW.

Cool, these are awesome suggestions guys.

For some reason, even though I really dig the idea of these two, I just can't seem to get something that works out of them. Maybe I haven't delved far enough into 'em.

Hy-Slicer is cool...

Cataract from Glitchmachines is another I like a lot.

I use PaulStretch too. You can make some great ambient-like sounds with it.

Ribs is my new favourite. It’s a free granular plug-in. Does things I can’t do with Granulator 2 and the UI reminds of something Make Noise might make.

- delays, reverb
- MRhythmizerMB (would still be Gross Beat if it didn't constantly crash on my current system)
- Guitar Rig
- Zebrify
- Reaktor
