Hey all,
I hope you guys can help me.! I lost some of my computer data earlier this year and with it a lot of my sound samples. :( Truly frustrating as I was working on my first album (RetroWave) and most of my mixes were almost finished. Now I'm trying to recreate my work....and while I've been able to find most of my sounds (luckily I had a minor back-up and a lot I've been able to track down again online) there are a couple that I just can't find or get online anymore.

Can any of you please do a search on your computer for the following file names? This is exactly what they were named from whatever sample pack or website they came from. I know them from my Ableton project files and I'm very sure I did not change file names. (Hopefully neither did you guys  ) I will also give some more details on them.
-->

memoogstrngc3.wav
(This is from a Moog Sample Pack by Pro Studio Samples (PSS_MoogCollection.zip), unfortunately they don't seem to be around anymore. The website is offline and their ebay store doesn't list any more items. :( Too bad as they had some really good stuff and this pack was excellent from what I recall!)

sy dx7 doomed-000-072-c4.wav
(I think this was from some Retrowave/Synthwave sample pack that featured various vintage synths. This sample appears to be the famous Tub Bells patch from the Yamaha DX7 but actually from an SY model? It did have a slightly different sound and I remember substituting it with the FM7 tub bell a few times but that never sounded as good! Probably because this here came from an actual synth and was multi sampled!)

11_C3.wav
This is one sample of multi samples from the famous Sararr patch from the Fairlight II. It is from the dvdborn blog but unfortunately that one is offline now. :( The multi samples were in two different zips and really the best Sararr samples all around. Unfortunately on the web archive it is not downloadable either. :(
https://web.archive.org/web/20151028203 ... s-ago.html

As you can see the zip files are named:
Sararr_Filter_20.zip
Sararr_Filter_127.zip

I would prefer to have these instead of just that one C3 sample.

I have tried contacting the PSS guy and also the guy from dvdborn but so far no responses. Not sure if they even still use these email adresses. So I figured I better try it this way too.

I would greatly appreciate if you guys can help me out here - I'm sure you understand how frustrating and undesirable it would be to re-do these mixes with new sounds. Those sounds were perfect as they were. So I would be more than happy to send a small paypal donation to whoever can send me these files or packs (preferably the whole packs). Or in case of the second sample tell me who the seller is (if still active). I could also offer some samples in return as I still have a big collection and some rare stuff. I'm kinda desperate here, folks!
Thanks a lot. :)

I found a "SY DX7 Doomed-000-072-c4.wav" file here, it is from a Yamaha DX7 library for Beat Zampler.

Thanks a lot, pottering!
When looking for this on the web it unfortunately turns out that the free download link isn't working anymore. :(

But I found a couple of sites who are selling this pack. (Kinda odd since Yamaha Synths offered it for free.)

But at least one sound I can get now. :)

Update:
Buahaha, nevermind. I just found this: :D

Also, an update on the Moog sample.
I was actually mistaken that it is from the PSS_MoogCollection. However, I would still like to get that sample pack again if possible (as I'm pretty sure I used it in some other songs, it was a good pack either way).
Instead the sound "memoogstrngc3.wav" is from a collection called "Moog on E-MU II". Anyone familiar with that? Can't seem to find it on the net. But this is the folder path it was taken from on my former hardrive. Usually I named them after the packs.

I just got to find out about the folder path earlier today btw, which is a really cool and ingenious thing to track down. This may be helpful to some of you guys here who use Ableton! -->
As it turns out the Ableton project files (.als) are gzip compressed xml files. So if you use 7-zip to decompress them you will actually have a file that you can open up with notepad that is readable. Now you can find all the information on the project including settings and also the folder paths of the sample files! This has been a real lifesaver for me already. :) (Now I don't need to chase samples with the automatic replacement search within Ableton anymore - which is a cool feature by itself but becomes a problem when you have SEVERAL samples with the same name in your library. Which happens a lot with percussions for instance (shake5, snare2, kick_3, etc etc.) But with the XML folder paths and in case you had/have a neatly organised library you can tell now what drum machine folder they were from :))

Looks like the sample set was made by Beat magazine, and only (briefly) promoted by Yamaha.
Falkemedia is the publisher of Beat…

Update:
I was able to purchase that Moog on EMU sound now as it can be found here:
https://www.cyborgstudio.com/e-mu-emulator-iii
(in the vintage samples pack)

I have downloaded quite a bit from cyborgstudio for rebuilding my samples collection I have to say. I can definitely recommend their stuff! What's cool is (and I jut noticed that) that once you bought something from them (and signed up with their letter?) you get a free download of the week. At least so far. cooge

Now I only need those Sararr samples....surely somebody must have them because that dvdborn link made its rounds several years back - on this forum and others as well. Again, I'd be more than happy to swap samples or send a donation. Thanks!

Unfortunately I still haven't found/received the Sararr samples. :(

Anyone, please? When doing a search on your computer it would probably be best to look for 'Sararr_Filter'. Again, I'd be very happy to make a donation.
