I know that I have done this before and now I can't figure it out.

Using Studio One 4.6.2 and Windows 10 Pro, I want to put a VST on track 1 and record the output of the VST on track 2. The reason I want to do this is so I can manipulate the VST while I record theses
effects on track 2.

I have set track 2 to record the output of track 1 but as soon as I monitor track 1, the DAW will not allow me to put track 2 in the record mode.
