I just got this (maudio) omnistudio usb soundcard for my laptop, and I got the midi keyboard going through, I can get a signal through the line and mic inputs fine, BUT I can't figure out how to record, say from a standalone softsynth into Audition or something. When I record the line in for example, I get a very faint signal and hiss.
In the "volume control" mixer I don't seem to have any recording options available, i.e. "what you hear, line in, mic, spdif" faders, and the omnistudio control panel only lists recording formats (44.1, 96 etc..).
If anyone could help out It'd be much appriciated (and yes of course I've contacted maudio but their email is s-l-o-w)

Hi,
Did you set up the audio and midi inputs in Audition? Also, you need to specify the M-Audio Asio driver in Audition or whatever program you are trying to record with.

Yeah I did. When I record in Audition, I see a signal on the meter, it's hiss, but there's quite a bit of it. There's no signal on the maters when I play my softsynth. The odd thing is when I try to play back the hiss, it'll play on my laptop speaker but not through the omnistudio.
