Hi everybody,

so...i've made this little Midi FX (js script for Logic Pro X's Scripter plugin), primarily for myself to learn a bit about music theory and chord progressions. A little toy that lets you play the chords belonging to a given musical key with "one finger" and experiment with chord progressions, with ability to change musical key and chord colouring by key switches.
It finally didn't make a star composer of me but it's fun to play around with.
There are some commercial plug-ins available which do about the same....but what the heck....

Give it a try if you are interested:

I've made a brief introductional video about it:

I would love to receive feedback :-)

Nice script. Seems to work fine.

Hi everybody :-)

i have made a new version of SevenDegrees, this time as AudioUnit / VST3 (Midi Effect).
It has a few additional features, like a sort of heatmap that indicates where to go next (which chord next?), chord name display, a GUI :-D

Somebody interested in having a look ?
Well yes, to be honest it would be more of a test phase than a release that I don't want to do until I've received some feedback.

So far i could test it with Logic Pro X and Reaper (on WIndows)...

If someone wants to try at this stage, a short message is enough.

Thanks :-)

Hi, sorry for the delay...I thought I'd get notified when a new post is added to this thread, but no....have to check the settings.

I don't know how I can help you other than to describe how I do it:

(from manual:)
>>>
Copy the downloaded file SevenDegrees.pst to:
Macintosh HD/users/[yourUser]/music/Audio Music Apps/Plug-In Settings/Scripter
The next time you activate the Scripter Plugin for a midi track, SevenDegrees will appear as preset in the dropdown menu.
<<<
Before you activate the Scriter Plugin, create an Instrument track (preferrably with a EXS24 and a Piano preset loaded). Check with your MIDI keyboard that it actually produces sound.
Then load the Scripter Plugin as MIDI-FX, select "SevenDegrees" from the Presets-Menu.
That's it, there should be signs of life now.

Hope it helps
Cheers
Rudi

Oh....and I wish you a happy new year ! :-)
