Hi

I just purchased Celtic Era and eventually got it to play.

Now I want to add it to my DAW which is FL Studio so I can try to make some tunes.

Can anyone tell me how to do this or if it can even be done.

I had a bit of trouble because of the size of this program so all files and the program are at present in my 'Documents' folder.

Do I need to transfer them elsewhere or?

Thanks for your help.

You mean this thing?

https://www.bestservice.com/celtic_era.html

Webpage says its a VST plugin. Have you read the FL Studio documentation on how to install plugins?

Ahh cheers. I did and went looking for it via an FL Studio search and I couldnt find it to add. It hasnt showed up in my windows program files to find and I cant find any mention of adding it there so thought I had better ask here first.

Going by the description there are probably two (or three) 'parts'.

One will be the sample data itself, which will be the bulk of the space usage.
Another will be the plugin. Depending on the plugin type that can go into either a fixed location (for AAX, AU, VST3 etc) or, for VST2 a user-defined one (though there's probably a 'standard' default location given if you dont change it)
The third might be a location for the standalone.

The one you want to be sure of for FL Studio is the plugin location.

Yes I am trying to get FL Studio to find it now even though I have given exact folder. It is huge so moving it elsewhere is not simple.

For some reason it will not recognise it to be added.

Yeah, but the three parts will probably be in different places. And FL only needs to see the VST plugin part.

I'd advise you to start with the standalone, make sure it 'sees' the sample content. That should mean the plugin will see it too.

Then locate the plugin, or rerun the installer and take note of where it says its going to put the plugin.

Well, that possibly means you're not doing the right thing. But you havent said what you are actually doing, so I cant do anything more than give you generic advice.

Ok thanks. I have 2 folders besides the instrument library. They are the engine2.7.017.win and the Hall_of_fame_3.1.7.win.

None of these are listed as a 'vst plugin' and neither is any file in the library. So I imagine this is my problem?

Can you post some screenshots, or even better, a video, of your installation procedure?

Jeez I have no idea of how to do that but this Celtic era plays ok in its Engine 2 on its own keyboard and with my Launchkey2 keyboard. But I just cant get FL Studio to see the thing.

I suspect when you install it you install it do the default location? You are not changing it during the installation? Where does it say it's installing the software? It might be a location which is not one of the default locations where FL Studio is searching for the VST plugins, in that case you need to add that locations in FL Studio.

I think I have found it. The vst is under Best Service in program files. I will try that and report back.

I have cracked it. I was looking for Celtic Era and I should have been looking for Best service which is named as the VST.

Thanks for your help guys.

Cheers
