Round-Robin Simulator Effect

Is there a plugin that can simulate round-robins for drum/percussion samples?
That would be extremely useful when a user only has one drum sample but would like to emulate a more realistic performance throughout a song, e.g., drum is slightly altered for each hit, i.e., EQ, pitch, duration, etc.

Wouldn't that have to involve some kind of AI?i don't think this is as straight forward as you make it seem.as far as i know there's nothing like that out there, but saying that,it's pretty easy to make different articulations out of duplicates of the samples

I don't think so. I think it could simply be some sort of suit of options that users can set and then let things go random over time and/or triggers.

Sure, and I could also make dozens of copies of the same sample and then slightly tweak, but I'm hoping to find a plugin that could randomize/humanize single hits.

I like a subtle flanger effect on sequences triggering one shot hi-hat and ride cymbal samples.

Check out Geist2. I think as far as drum sequencers go it's as advanced as it gets. And you have loads of modulation options including "random" - so you can randomize fine pitch, filter resonant & cut off and maybe some distortion and you get quite a bit of variation. I use that on single high hat samples all the time to get a more human feel very quickly. It can get super deep, like different fx per step.
(it's also very good for layering and the actual round robin features)

You can do it in kontakt, in the script editor there are presets for humanization/randomization. A lot of DAW sequencers also let you do it.

hey,
if you are in ableton, the sampler can randomly alter volume, pitch and a filter. Also there is a tool called modulat which can modulate everything. i recently did something for oneshot drumsamples and let modulat modulate a little eq bump between 250 and 450 hz (roughly i think) to get little more variation. otherwise i dont know about a humanise plugin (ableton got something but there you can only alter the velocity).
have a look at that modulat thing, its great!

load several drum samples into your sampler of choice with slight pitch, filter cut, amplitude perhaps?

but that's what modulation is for, right? Just assign a few lfo's to the parameters and you've got randomization.tommyzai wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 6:28 pm Sure, and I could also make dozens of copies of the same sample and then slightly tweak, but I'm hoping to find a plugin that could randomize/humanize single hits.

Impulse is also really handy for this in Live and can be nested in drum racks.
It's not 'hit randomisation button' quick but it still only takes a few seconds to get eight variations once you have it set up with random and scale devices.

In many DAWs - Bitwig, Live, Reason and more - you can do that either at the level of sampler device and/or FX chains following or MIDI FX preceding each drum hit, by applying some random modulation to the parameters triggered by each new note.tommyzai wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 4:46 pm Is there a plugin that can simulate round-robins for drum/percussion samples?

So, what you're using?

I'm using either Logic, Reaper, or MuLab. I was hoping to find an effect chain plugin did all of the above . . . no workarounds within a DAW. I think Sugarbytes and other developers have created multi-effect units. It would be cool if there was some sort of randomization through a parameters in real-time to emulate humanization.
