Anyone using FL Studio 20. Just been trying out programs of late. How's the PC, and mac performance. I like Studio One, but just seeing what's out right now. My friend showed me Luna, and Logic. I really like UAD's plugins/hardware. Mainly do pop/electronic right now. To pricey as of now. Thanks.

Industry polls would have you beleve everyone uses FL
What's wrong with S1 and how do you think FL will remedy that?

I have it but rarely use it. It's worth the price but.. It's more like a fun side quest rather than a main quest.

That's actually not a bad idea for a DAW for people who have problems finishing projects:SneakyBeats wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 3:40 pmIt's more like a fun side quest rather than a main quest.
- you can only spend so much time on one track, before it gets locked for editing
- you get access to more devices you own (synths, FX) only after more tracks / track duration have been added
- you get points on a DAW leaderboard related to how fast you're progressing your track (adjusted for peer reviews, so that the quality matters, too),
- you get bonuses - e.g. unlocked new native devices or features - if you've improved significantly in one or more of metrices,
- you die (project is getting deleted) if it's not finished in given time

check the result of the what's next voting, https://forum.image-line.com/viewtopic. ... e#p1513645

so the different audio manipulating operations can't be solved directly in its arranger(playlist editor) but need different plugins
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FlCFBEbFpc&t=257s
that will be solved in the next major release 21, there is no MIDI recording in its performance mode also will be solved in 21.x.x, still there are some minor PDC issues, automation clip handling also will be improved soon (FL is fully modular and currently hard to track back the sources/targets of automation clips, automated automations can automate automated automations...from multiple sources)
I would check the comprehensive review of https://www.admiralbumblebee.com/music/ ... io-20.html
conclusion: it's awesome with minor flaws
ps. they just posted a full plugin list video

- https://www.admiralbumblebee.com/music/ ... usion.htmlThe takeaway is that FLStudio is a REAL DAW. It’s one of the top products. When you see FLStudio topping those ‘what DAW do you use?’ charts, it’s because it’s a highly capable product. It’s lightyears ahead of some DAWs in many areas.

Performance is great! Surprisingly so, actually. I found that FL Studio has a couple of idiosyncrasies in its workflow that I personally ended up having trouble with. But the pattern workflow is great in general. I can see why many people really like using it.wuworld wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 3:07 pm Anyone using FL Studio 20. Just been trying out programs of late. In case this question was directed towards me.
I am primarily using Studio One these days. But I still like to fire up Ableton regularly. I started with Live and continue to be very fond of it. And for immersive or surround projects I use either Nuendo or sometimes also Reaper (for the more technical tasks).

I have used Cubase and Reason extensively over the years with some forays into Ableton Live, Reaper and Sonar.
FL Studio which is now my main DAW is the only one of those that doesn't seemed overly cluttered to me and even less so since the vector graphics GUI updates.
Arguably one of the most attractive looking interfaces on any DAW with Ableton a close second IMO.
Cubase from version 7 onward just gave me a headache and seems to get more cluttered and fugly with each update right up to version 10. Besides that I didn't even need probably half of the functions in there.
In that sense I love FL Studio's stripped down aesthetic, it helps me focus more on what is important and not get bogged down in utilizing functions of the DAW that maybe I never even really needed in the first place, whether it be in composition or mixing.
If you are recording bands I guess something like Cubase or Pro tools would be a better choice (although far from impossible in FL) but if you are like me just writing, recording music then FL Studio is just as capable as any of the others and a very powerful program.
Don't forget about FL Studio's free lifetime updates. I bought a license way back when it was version 5 and now it's on version 13 (FL Studio 20) and those free updates just keep coming.
