Looking for easy/cheap way to record hardware sequenced outgear

Hi,

I'm usually producing on my PC as a passtime. I got a couple hardware units by now (2 synths, a drum machine and a sampler (sp404)) and I wanted to set them up in a different room and sequence them with a keystep pro. The problem is, since its in a different room, I cant track them into my PC. I connect them to a small-ish mixer that only outputs the master. What would be the best way to track out the stems of a jam to keep working on them on my PC? I have an Ipad pro I could use as a 'recording laptop' but I was thinking if there is an alternative. It seems to me, I would be better served with something like an MPC One or an old MPC 1000 if I could find one after all (which would make the point of getting the Keystep Pro moot). I also considered picking up a MPX16 and recording into that. Do you guys have any tips?

edit: maybe the easiest way would be to get a mixer like the soundforge 12mtk that tracks each in seperately per usb and record into the ipad? Alternatively get a sequencer/sampler with enough ins that I can skip the mixer. I just really liked the idee of the simplicity of the keystep pro.

Would if you use a long USB active repeater cable with your audio interface connected to your PC?

It's too far and then id have this extra cable or two. I just spotted a reasonably priced barely used Soundforge 12Mtk and impulse bought it on eBay. So I'm gonna try the Ipad solution. The good thing about hardware is it retains value pretty well .
