someone is offering me ableton suite 9 for £80 maybe £75

my question
how much is it to upgrade 9 suite to any newer version say 10 with free upgrade anyone know ? cheers

I'd imagine it's the same EUR149 that upgrade from 10 Suite is, so that sounds like an awesome deal, even if it was 200 or 250.

Which means the offer sounds shady AF, unless it's someone you know & they need money...

ahh i see its a student version which is more to upgrade i think isnt it ? i could in theroy get my daughter to get it shes a student lol , i may just stay on intro its actually good enough

I think Live 9 Suite Edu for 80 pounds is about right because you can't upgrade it:

I've sold my Live 10 Suite (about 2 months ago) for about $340 but it wasn't Edu and returned to purchase Live 10 Standards with most Suite addons for $220 yesterday! I have already Live 9 intro which runs great. I was actually looking for Suite 9 but couldn't find because I don't need the extras in 10, so if you are sure you are ok with Suite 9, then take it and stay with it

Suite 9 doesn't have the Wavetable synth or the Capture midi, but it is still a great DAW IMO. It has Operator and Collision which are difficult to find in other DAWs. Operator especially is damn good! There are also great EQ and compressor (the Glue) in Standard and Suite editions which Intro lacks.

Bitwig is also a great choice if you don't have projects tied to Live.

Oh! So you can, for example, buy edu Suite 9 and upgrade it to the normal Suite 10 like anyone who have normal Suite 9 and upgrade it to Suite 10? But no discount applied if there is any. Right?

But you need a student id to register Suite 9 edu before you can upgrade it to Suite 10 of course. Maybe I should write the FAQ for them

You pay the same, regular upgrade price from 9 to 11 as everyone else, no Edu discount.
