So, I usually do 80s electronic pop, somewhere between DM, Pet Shop Boys and more beat-based music.

Now, I happen to have an idea for typical radio EDM-inspired pop (say Avicii light or even more pop-friendly), and for a change, I'd like to try this (somewhat loathed) genre, especially if I can wrap it up rather quickly. I use MuLab for my main DAW, and I never use loops (I sequence all myself, the traditional way).

No matter how I try, I can't get the 2017-2019 radio-friendly EDM-ish pop sound (mostly, I gravitate towards my "own" genre in my efforts). I figure some DAWs come with loops and stuff, and are oriented towards such music. Thus, I'm pondering trying a freebie that is already loaded with drum loops and stuff for newcomers, and hopefully templates for this sort of music. Any ideas? I'm thinking Studio One Free, for example.

Just to keep the thread from derailing: I'm NOT looking for a sample library to use with MuLab or so, but for a starting point, preferably a template song with fx, sidechain compression and template instruments already set up, ready to change to one's own melodies and chord progressions. ...and since this is mainly an experiment, hopefully free or just about.

BTW, through Focusrite Plugin Collective, I can get Ampify Studio, ProTools First's "Focusrite Creative Pack" and Ableton Live Lite (plus three months of free Splice sounds).

I guess for my options, it's between the free versions of ProTools, Cubasis, Studio One, Live, Podium Free and then Tracktion/Waveform plus Cakewalk. ...or Soundbridge perhaps? Of course, I'd prefer VST support, so maybe not ProTools First or at least the free version of Studio One. (I'm on Windows, so not Garageband.)

Thanks! :phones:
