Pipe organ for orchestral music - not too expensive

Hello,

I am searching for a pipe organ library, not too expensive. Doesn't need to be super flexible but should sound good. I am not an expert on organs but I mainly after that rich sound with a lot of harmonics which I believe is created by pulling out all stops. Any library that does that well on a budget?
I will be mostly using it for trailer-ish kind of stuff to fill out the lows and highs of the arrangement, but it should also sound convincing when playing on its own (but probably won't make full solo organ pieces).

I stumbled across Sonokinetic - Toccata which now is dirt cheap (25€). But is it any good? It seems pretty old and not much can be found on youtube. There is only the launch trailer of 50sec, seems not all too bad but not that good either (but maybe with some EQ it can work).

Any experience with that library? Or any other library below 100€ which can be recommended? Maybe something on sale now?

Try Modartt Organteq. You’ll never use another pipe organ sample again.

Otherwise use Leeds Town Hall Organ. It's free. I used it before I got Organteq.

Thanks a lot! That free one seems to be just what I need now. And probably will get Organteq further down the line if I will compose more music with organ and feel the need to get a more flexible one.

The following are all Kontakt libraries. I own the first six. They're all different and I would buy more but I never actually end up using organ much so I forced myself to stop - but I do love a good organ; I even sponsored the refurbishment of a pipe at the Royal Festival Hall in London! I'm no expert though, just listen to the demos. Black Friday prices may change soon.

https://www.spitfireaudio.com/shop/a-z/ ... pel-organ/ (BF price £111)
https://ariasounds.com/church_pipe_orga ... ument.html (€49 often cheaper in sale though)
https://www.lootaudio.com/category/kont ... cert-organ (BF €70.44)
https://www.lootaudio.com/category/kont ... Festival-2 (cutdown of the above organ) (BF €16.90)
https://www.samplephonics.com/products/ ... hall-organ (free)
Unorthodox Audio St James The Great Organ (this seems to have disappeared, can't find link, it was super cheap too)

Also worth a check:

https://soundiron.com/collections/piano ... lpha-organ (BF $48)
https://soundiron.com/collections/piano ... pipe-organ (BF $29)

I have Garritan Pipe Organ...has many configurations, allowing up to 16 different combinations of stops and pedals. THe sound is great as well...was about $100 a few years ago, but might be on sale...check it out.

I use Hephaestus Italian Concert Organ a lot.
Has been on sale for quite low prices in the past...

The Hephaestus Italian Concert Organ is great. You can choose from 32 registers plus some automation is possible.

What about https://www.toontrack.com/product/ezkeys-pipe-organ/? If you already have an EZKeys instruments it's within budget.

If you don't, you can pick up https://www.toontrack.com/product/ezkeys-upright-piano/. Together they are still within budget (shop around a bit in different online stores to see where's the best deal).

Ending 11 hours from now.

For now I am using the Leeds Town Hall Organ, for a free organ it is very nice! I just wish it was recorded a bit closer to the pipes so that I have a sharper high end and a more aggressive/harmonic tutti sound as well as a faster/snappier attack to have melodic runs stand out more.

The Garritan is not on sale, still stable at 100€ so there is currently no rush for getting it.

I don't have an EZKeys instrument and without it it seems that no matter what I want I have to buy a 155€ instrument and add whatever expansion I want, in case of the pipe organ it's 60€ (instead of 75€) which together still is above 200€.

The Hephaestus Italian Consert Organ seems to sound just like I need it at around 2-3min into this demo:

But this is the only demo I can find of it, besides an other one on YT that shows just one other sound.
I am wondering though whether the cut down pipe festival 2 might suffice for me. In that case there is no rush in buying either as the full version goes for only around 20€ anyways. The preset 16 at 2:20 in this video sounds very convincing, maybe it is even the same as the sound I pointed out in the other video:

However there is missing something. I am not sure if it is just the switched off reverb or the fact that the low register isn't played as opposed to the other demo, or if it is actually a different sound.

the Soundiron Lakeside at $29 is an outstanding buy. Nice room, uses a close mic vs ambient mic paradigm so you have individ control and blend pots, a stops mixer, all automatable. I wasn't trying to buy any organ but dayum

You might also check out jOrgan, which is free and runs on Java:

On the jOrgan site, under Shared Dispositions, you will find a large number of mostly sampled pipe organs. Of these, my personal favorites are by Stratman Virtual Instruments and John Reimer:

Soniccouture has one that sounds nice in the samples on the site--on sale right now: http://www.soniccouture.com/en/products ... nts-organ/

Works on Kontakt Player, too.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, keep them coming. For now I have got Hephaestus Pipe Festival 2 and it fits my current sonic needs perfectly and is easy to use. Should I ever need something different or more advanced I will check back here, maybe BF in a year :D

I didn't imagine that there would be so many valid options. Seems that pipe organ libraries are rarely discussed and there are many hidden gems out there. I am sure this thread is a valuable research resources for everyone searching for such a library.

Yeah, I'm surprised, too
