HI
Having just ordered Orion (should come anyday now!) I don't know wether to laugh or cry!
I suppose the good news is a tool is on the way to 'sort out' corrupted files but I would rather not have to deal with them in the first place!
This is not unique to Orion though; I have had this problem arising on Logic with an increasing regularity, in particular it seems to effect older compositions - I imagine this is down to a variety of reasons which might include updated and removed vst's or moving sample material around or heaven knows what else!
Flipper.

Amazingly enough, I've only had one corrupted song in OPlat and that was more than 10 months ago. Careful maintenance of VST/VSTi, rescanning after any changes or adjustments, that kind of thing seem to prevent any issues, at least on my system (hopefully not famous last words here).
It's nice something's there in case I get zapped, though!

Chill, flipper..
I don't think I've seen any other developers doing anything like this; Rich looks after his users, so this is a good thing.
There's all kinds of shit that can cause a saved track to eat shit, & none of them have to have anything to do with the actual host, like you said.
I think it's very forward-thinking of Synapse to do this.
It also bears mentioning that I haven't suffered a single broken file since I began using orion back in February. The saved files may not be considered 'songs', but they are numerous & they ALL opened..
Of course a re-formatting may introduce some chaos into the factors, so I may have a file or two for Synapse; I need to check.
Eat more fiber.
Be a good consumer.

bye now,

I don't think it's the plugins that are "dodgy".

I guess most of us who suffered have moved on then.Kriminal wrote:You are in a minority.Teksonik wrote:I don't think it's the plugins that are "dodgy".
To clarify a bit: back in the days, corrupted song wasn't my problem. It's the unpredictable crashes on pretty much every session that was. I've changed 3 computers since then and it's always the same.
I still remember being told it's all about my dodgy plugins/sloppy maintainence of my PC etc.

Think about it Krim. People use the very same plugins in every other host. When have you seen a "Broken FL Studio Songs" thread or any other host for that matter. Sure the odd corrupt file is possible in any host but not at the frequency of Orion's problem. No other host needs a "Safe Loader". Rich's excuse that it's the plugin's fault just doesn't hold water. I've said it before and I'll say it again,Rich is a brilliant synth designer and should stick to creating instruments. Leave the host/sequencer design to others. Like The Wall said many of us have moved on because of Orion's faults.Kriminal wrote:You are in a minority.Teksonik wrote:I don't think it's the plugins that are "dodgy".

Ive seen loads of threads here about ppl who cannot load or have lost songs in FL, Cubarse etc, its not uncommon.
The problems ARE usually with dodgy plugs, dodgy samples, or general bad housekeeping on the users part.
Rich is simply trying a new app to help ppl who have said they have lost trax. As it is, only one person has sent him a file, so i guess all the ppl who complained before were bullshitting.

My prob with Orion is more the crashes than songs not being able to open. Most of them happen while I'm adjusting events(of synths) while the songs playing or when I'm adjusting the sample slices while the songs playing. Something that happens with both vstis and native generators.

We've been KVR members for about the same length of time Krim and I don't remember seeing "loads" of threads about lost songs in other hosts. At least not at the frequency of Orion. Like someone said at the Synapse forum when he gets a song file that won't load he simply deletes it and moves on. Perhaps that's why Rich hasn't received many songs to test in his Safe Loader. I'm one of those who didn't experience corrupt files with Orion but rather got tired of the random crashes and lack of features I need.Kriminal wrote:Ive seen loads of threads here about ppl who cannot load or have lost songs in FL, Cubarse etc, its not uncommon.
