INSTALLERS

WHAT'S NEW
  • Frequency Splitter - Split and process audio into 2 or three bands using Linear Phase or Low Latency filters from -6 dB to 96 dB Octave. Visualize frequencies with a Frequency Histogram, Heatmap or dual display.
  • Instrument Tuner - Visual tuning indicator.
  • Fruity Parametric EQ 2 - New Frequency Histogram display, Linear Phase mode with artifact free high slew-rate modulation capability, Band
    Mute switches
, Solo bands, improved Finite Impulse Response (FIR) down sampling filter and updated UI including Phase Rotation display, Mid/Side/L/R frequency visualization monitoring.
  • Maximus - New Frequency Histogram display and Linear Phase filter mode.
  • Sampler / Audio Clip Channels - New Cut and Paste options from the Preview Window (<span class="KbdShortcut]Right-Click</span>) options menu.
  • FLEX - New Browser with three layout modes for improved visual discovery. Added and arpeggiator switch. For some presets allows turning their Arpeggiator(s) off. This will turn orange when the option is available.
  • Transistor Bass - Transistor Bass - Added V2 Engine based on our best science! Our mostest accurate emulation of a real TB303 ever. This comes in two options. V2 TB303 cutoff range or V2 Extended cutoff range.
  • ZGE Visualizer - Drag and drop content on the Main Editor window to create Videos and Image layers. (<span class="KbdShortcut]Right-Click</span>) option to 'Save still image' to a custom size from the Main Workspace. Dragging and dropping image or video files on the plugin creates a Layer. Optionally, video is now preloaded to memory for improved performance and synchronization. NVIDIA accelerated CODEC now used to MP4 video generation (Windows only).
  • Control Surface / Patcher - Copy existing controls with a (<span class="KbdShortcut]Right-Click</span>) 'Duplicate' option.
  • Merge Automation Clips - Selected Automation Clips can now be merged using the Playlist Edit menu.
  • Video Player - Reduced CPU usage during video playback. Video is now preloaded to memory for improved performance and synchronization.
  • Language Support - Support for additional display languages: Chinese. More languages to come soon, see the forum here.
  • Glitch free plugin loading - FL Studio audio is less likely to be interrupted while loading plugins. NOTE: If a plugin introduces processing latency, then audio glitches can't be avoided.
  • Initialized Controls - Added a (<span class="KbdShortcut]Right-Click</span>) option 'Delete initial value' to remove initialized values from initialized/automated controls.
  • Automation Clips - Increased precision for control and parameter automation. Added a Channel Rack & Picker Panel (<span class="KbdShortcut]Right-Click</span>) Automation Clip 'Clone with links' to clone Automation Clips with their original links.
  • File size warning - Set the maximum size a FL Studio (.flp) project will save, before warning you about the size of the file.
  • Wrapper MIDI Support - There are now 16 'MIDI Channel Aftertouch' parameters at the end of the 'Browser > Current project > Generators parameter list', for all wrapped plugins (VST, VST3, AU), instead of just one.
  • Wrapper > Troubleshooting - Separated problem solving options from the Processing tab and added 'Fast idle' option to increase the frame rate for some plugin editor windows.
  • Edison Desnoise (macOS) - Improved denoising algorithm to match Windows. New Smoothing control.
  • Toolbar (<span class="KbdShortcut]Right-Click</span>) - Choose flat buttons because flat is the new phat.
  • Options requiring restart - FL Studio will automatically restart (with dialog) instead of just closing when using option that require restart such as Scaling, Language or User Data location. Yay!
  • Diagnostic - Now includes the most recent crash logs in its report.

it's an great update! They also improved the overall performance, for example now I can make automation clips unique without crackles if a full song with much plugins and a big mastering chain is running! Really, everybody should use FL Studio, because this DAW is the best and they improve it more and more in almost every area! :tu:

To each their own, but I find the workflow in FL truly horrible.

well, of course workflow is a matter of taste, but I also worked with Cubase and Sonar and tried Ableton several times and FL Studio is the only DAW I know with all features I need for my music. And meanwhile it's really easy to use, because they also improved the workflow!

I doubt you have tried it recently (not that you should if you are happy elsewhere). But FL Studio is changing so fast these days something you say today, is out of date tomorrow. If you are linear focused, then they have been working on that workflow too with "audio" and "instrument" tracks.

I was a "conventional" DAW user too and indeed those audio/instrument tracks and all are more straight forward to me. Testing the new update right now. Seems very promising so far.

I find FL so bloated now. I loved it since version 6 until version 10 or so (but then I found Ableton Live..). But it's nice to know these IL guys keep on giving, with all these lifetime free updates for its loyal users. 20.8 seems to be a great update.

Not sure how this logic works. You don't need to open, touch or look at things you don't need. The default FL Studio project looks exactly like it did in version 6. Empty.

Don't mind. FL is good software for sure.

Well, now it's 9 o'clock in the morning in Germany and I worked on many different tracks the whole night and I had no problems with the new FL Studio version! Every track is loading fine and I'm using really many different plugins, all of the known and much more, and also much instances! :D

Just came here to see what's new can bring a minor FL update. I would have to pay $99 for this if it was a Cubase x.5 (major) update :D

Lifetime free updates.

They have proved other DAWs are just ripping you off. The haters and armchair experts were wrong.

Despite owning the program since back when it was still called FruityLoops, I've only recently started learning FL Studio in earnest and have been trying to keep my mind as open as possible. I can already recognize why the workflow might be divisive and wouldn't feel right to many users accustomed to other DAWs, but I can also see the benefits. Going back to a pattern based workflow is a bit nostalgic since I first started making music on trackers.

just need a "Bitwig" inside of it

Parawave Rapid FX to able to build modulated multilayered fx chains in it, but otherwise really nice creative DAW, so I would say Spire, Zebra and Rapid Synthesizer still must have ones to get all the sounds + the FL ones
