HI

Yes, I crossgraded from Logic on a nice little deal from Arbiter.

Hoping the move will not be too much of a headache!

Yes the only reason i chose Cubase over logic was because of the finished PC support for logic. (i bet steinberg were doing handstands when they heard that news..lol)

Post

i'm not sure if i'll be giving pinnacle any more of my money...

HI

I had never really thought about it before but looking at Logic now; its all grey and dark - perhaps the bright lights of SX might just liven up the whole process :D !

i just did look

the usual cubase net style ranting about f**k all

"steinberg didnt let me f**k their daughters so I want everything for free" they cry

as the last poster said what features did they advertise that were not there ??

answer - none

I bought it *shrug* just for fuckin around.

everyone knows I hate cubase, but I still give it another chance every version... it's my guilty pleasure to play with it, hate it, then throw it in the closet with all the other software I wasted 100's of $$ on. I aint gonna touch nuendo again though.

I'll be upgrading when it arrives in the US. Said it should not be until the 20-24th. The return of midi maps, and inplace editing is what gets me.

I went for it. As for the Cubase forum, it's loaded with whiners. I really wish they'd restrict it to paying, registered customers. I suspect the signal to noise would go way up. Cubase isn't perfect, but for a program of its complexity it works very well, at least on the PC. It may be different on the Mac, but then I can't imagine running anything but Logic on a Mac. In fact, I can't imagine why you'd want a Mac unless you want to run Logic.

Anyway, the new stuff in SX3 looks phenomenal. I'm very much looking forward to it.

Yep, I upgraded for a nominal price too low to print here. Look forward to using the deep freeze feature and audio warping :D

 @ Robert btw :D

I'm not sure I will be upgrading this time around. v2.x was a significant boost in SX's robustness for me and in general, the new features don't really justify the cost for my needs. Besides, I'm curious to see what Emagic has under their sleeves for Logic 7. Once they play out their hand, I will be more open to thinking about major DAW upgrades.

ericj23: obviously, you didn't pay much attention. if you've used it on a mac, maybe you'd have a clue of what i was talking about. rewire compatibility is advertised but doesn't work on dual processor macs due to poor support on steinberg's part. just do a search on mac bugs on the steinberg forums...

i have been a registered AND paying steinberg customer since the days when the atari was a viable platform for cubase(!), you ignorant turd. all i want is for steinberg to take it's mac customers a little more seriously and provide the features that it promised in it's advertisements. i'm not looking for a freebie - i just want a more reasonable upgrade path than $149-$200. imo, $49 would be fair. had i known then what i know now, i wouldn't have upgraded my cubase vst32 5.

frankly, i'd rather spend my money on building a cheap pc daw (that cubase will run great on) than give my bucks to steinberg to fix the bugs that plagued the mac version of sx2...

I dont think that guy was talking to you, you "ignorant turd".
