I'm new to Logic and wondering a few things.

1. - Can you sync to external midi clock or MTC?

2 - Can you save system preferences?

3 - What's a good midi controller?

1. Logic does MTC.

2. Not sure what you mean by system preferences, but there are quiet few project and application settings.

3. That depends. The best controller is an iPad. However any controller will work. The one I would get would be a LaunchPad Pro MK3. It works well with Live Loops.
Studio One // Bitwig // Logic Pro // Ableton // Reason // FLStudio // MPC // Force // Maschine

Thanks for the info. I haven't got into the live loops yet. Mainly been using Drummer and Alchemy.

Yeah, if you have an iPad, then Logic Remote is awesome! Since 10.6 Logic Remote also works with the new Step Sequencer.

Any body using Logic with the M1 chip? If so, what plugins are working?

you can save project templates if that's what you mean by preferences? you can set up multiple templates.. one for mixing, one fo rtracking wetc etc.. as many as you like. file -> save as template.

it saves those in a location that's just for templates.. then when you start logic you can choose any template you like or existing projects etc.. or you can set the default template or default to open the most recent project etc.

there's a bunch of good youtube videos on 'best practices' and how to manage the tool menu etc. marguee tool is your friend. some tutorials get tedious bevause people want to show you why they do a thing but in there you can often find the thing you're looking for. lot's of logic tutorials on youtube.
