I deicded to check out TiCo today. I shy away from one-knob type plugins because I enjoy immersing myself into the infinite world of 1000 compressors and EQs. I have Mathew's DrMS which I use on every project. I also picked up StereoDelta and it really is a good general purpose one-know stereo image tool.

I took a look at TiCo's curves in PluginDoctor. I was surprised to see the Contour settings show as just simple bell and shelf curves. I feel like there is more going on there than what PD is showing. I do like how this tool sounds so far... considering....

Mathew Lane TiCo is a flexible signal processor plug-in, featuring 7 ‘TiGHTNESS’ compression styles and 7 ‘CoNTOUR’ character styles to take any source – drums, bass, guitars, synths, vocals, (mix)busses, masters & more – to the next level with ease.

TiCo is designed to get great results fast. It’s a go-to signal processor for that modern pop sound, and might quickly become your everyday all-round compressor and sound shaper. With its clear interface, it does not confuse with an abundance of options, but lets you focus on your music itself.

TiCo hides a lot of power under the hood. The TiGHTNESS section takes inspiration from renowned hardware compressors, resulting in 7 unique one knob compressor styles with an analog sweet spot. It shines in keeping sounds tight and up front with moderate and musical gain reduction. The CoNTOUR section offers colour, character and EQ with its own 7 style options, for easily shaping any sound using broad analog-like strokes. To complete TiCo’s flexibility, a dry/wet mix is available for the TiGHTNESS section and a process order flip button to place CoNTOUR before compression.

Would you say it's more of a mastering comp or a track comp??

Both. It's designed with compressor algos for both specific instrument track mixing, busses and mastering. I haven't tried it with many different sources yet. When I demo a plugin like this I usually try it with Sugar Bytes Egoist which creates a bass/drum/synth glitchy mix good for testing.

Just tried it on a mix in a mastering context. I can see value here. TiCo seems to do what it advertises: in mastering the different types/amounts of compression (tightness) and EQ (contour) offer some nice musical contexts.

Hmmm TiCo may be more than it appears.... more demoing....

With our "Buy more - Get cash back" you add anything (even the cheapest plugin) to cart and get 10% off both.
This is better than 'Virtual cash" because you get immediate discount on both, and not future discount only on one of them.

Yeah, i made the mistake to demo this a few weeks ago, and ended up buying it as it already found its way in a few projects :D

I really like how it sounds and how quickly you can get good results with it. Simple but effective :tu:

This is great to know Koby. Problem is, I don't see any other products I want to buy. So, I guess I'll take the virtual dollars from AD this time around.

Also, the discount process is confusing - I added two products to my cart both which had the "cash discount" note on the product pages but only was was discounted in the cart (TiCo and MIA 409). So it's too much work to figure out what products will give the discount and which will not. I think you may want to re-think this feature.

I'm pretty sure I had this happen with other products in the past. I saw the product page note and so I added some items to the cart and didnt see any discount. I figured I didnt understand it and I didn't have the time at the moment to go figure it out.

You may want verify everything is working correctly with this feature... thanks for fixing this one. i'll go in and see what the damage will be. i missed the 409 $39 BF sale because I had prioritized other purchases. so now if I can get it for $45, that's ok with me. penny pinching covid times. money doesn't grow on trees.

Damn! Just didn't even know of this. Tested the demo and sounds stunning on almost anything. Will wait for a new offer as I really don't need another comp to the +100 collection (... I think)

Still using it a lot. Awesome little plugin, highly underappreciated.

I was trying a lot of Fairchild 670 inspired compressors and being disappointed.
This is very very good.
