eyoControl information anyone?

We've been having a discussion on the u-he forum regarding touch screen xy pad apps (viewtopic.php?f=31&t=558047&p=7989884#p7989884) and I just happened to have an old iPad of my wife's here that I plugged in to charge. I see I had installed an App called eyoControl and it has a xy pad option with 4 pads exactly like one would want to control a software synth like Zebra - and in a few quick googles I have read, it appears it can use a tethered connection which is exactly what we've been looking for (to avoid having to use wireless connections like TouchOSC Bridge and the XotoPad solution of rtpMidi).

Unfortunately, eyosido.com no longer exists as the same company that built this software and any links with the software itself to instructions on how to connect via USB and to the DAW are all broken links. If there are any users of this software out there with information, I would be very grateful for any help.

Further to that, seeing as I'm here, if anyone has found a useful hardware or software solution to operating the 4 Zebra xy pads with a tethered configuration, I would be very interested in hearing about it. And if you're using TouchOSC, Xotopad, or something similar in a wireless situation, hearing about your experiences would be useful. I will try one of these for just working in the studio or jam space but I can't see relying on wireless in a live performance as there are enough things that can wrong without throwing that elephant into the room.
