The built-in flanger FX on my old Korg Trident from the very early 80's sounds SOOOO much better that any flanger VST plugin that I have tried so far, including stuff from Eventide and the Cubase stock flanger. Are there and very good flanger VSTs that you guys swear by?

you could just copy and paste the list of flangers from the KVR database, cos... here it comes.
another list of everything.

the ADA flanger is ok, if you don't like the eventide one - why?

Since you like the flanger effect on your KORG you could try KORG MDE-X, it includes several flangers and has a demo.

The old Audio Damage Liquid flanger was nice, true through zero flanging etc. I think it's now bundled with the other mod effects, quadmod or something?

I've never found one, but I haven't tried them all. I'm eager to try the Eventide one. If the demo is good I will pick it up next time it's on sale.

One not mentioned much is the T.C. Electric one ported from the Powercore.
Very classic sounding.

If you want the real flanging sound, the Satin or the Waves Abbey Road thing.
Or the ADA.
I actually use the Cubase one for fake flanging.

But I do rank the eventide flanger mk2 as one of my top 3 so if this isn't one that you like... the rest of my list may be as useless.

p.s I do also have d16 Antresol but I wouldn't put it in my first call of six and Godfazer which is very versatile but I don't believe it does a proper flanger (flanging is not even one of its functions listed on d16's website).

UVI Shade is the best Flanger and about any other kind of EQ effect plugin ever. DOn't like the sound tweak to your hearts delight.
