Hope this is the right forum for this. So I'm using FL studio with a audigy platinum sound card. I'm having major CPU issues. If I use my primary sound driver I have a low CPU usage but I can't use audio recording. If I use the ASIO drivers I can record but the cpu is way up there. i used the reactor session demo and one particular patch. Primary sound driver reads about 5% cpu.....ASIO is at 30-35% CPU. Audigy won't let me set the sample rate at 41000 but thats what fruity likes and so does reactor. So I bump it back to 48000 and now the CPU is way up.

Should I get a new sound card???

Try the kx-drivers. A lot of people have praised them on kvr.

Thank you. I wasn't too helpful :(

I already tried them...can't remember why exactly but something didn't work right with them either.

Ok. Have you tried the FLS forums?

ASIO recording on EMU based cards (read Creative SBLive, Audigy's) works only in 48kHz. Buy better soundcard or faster CPU.

Like hell yeah!!! ASIO4All can solve that problem. It even works at 44.1 sample rate. :D

I'm using a Live!, and kx work better than ASIO4ALL here. . . .

-shorter latency, that is...-

I've had somewhat similar experiances But only when using FL STudio as a standalone, When I reun as a Vsti inside Cubase 2.2 it causes no perceptable increase in CPUasage according to Cubases' performance meter. (Sytrus excluded of course it's a true cpu oinker)!! :help:
So... needless to say Fl Studio exists for me only as a Pluggy, But thank God it's available as a Vsti cause tagged w/ Cubase it freakin' Inspires! :D
