I own a HPD-15 Handsonic. Lately, I programmed a MIDI drum groove in Cubase SX, send to and played back by the HPD-15, the audio routed back on to an audio channel in SX. I used quite a lot of dynamic fx on that channel until I found the kick sounding as I'd liked it to sound.

Then I wanted to use different FX like Reverb and the like on all the different sounds of the drum groove, like snare, hihat etc. The HPD-15 doesnt feature multiple outs so I tried soloing individual sound and record them track by track. The problem is, that the kick doesnt sound anymore like it kicks with all other sounds on, because the dynamic fx work differently with sounds switched off...

Now what would you do, with a setup like this to get the dynamics of the whole groove but individual sounds on different tracks to apply further FX?

I quite irritated, so are you, I guess... anyone understood my prob? ;-)

? find s/w fx to replace

? can you break it into sections and blend them together so the stuff you 'can't do' doesn't stand out?

? sometimes inverted samples can be used to remove sounds from a 'ganged' recording, oc pretty much useless if it's not the exact same sound at the same amplitude..

if you haven't seen this before, simple.. copy sample, invert it.. add them together, you get nothing, right.. now take the first sample, add fx, then add inversion, you're left with fx artifacts. geddit :)
