AUM vs. Audiobus or what else...

What do you prefer to combine different apps/plugins on an iPad. Mainly I want to play some of the wonderful MPE instruments with my LinnStrument and be able to switch fast. Would any of those two be comparable to Mainstage?

I have both and only use AUM.
Working with it is pure joy. It feels like developed for touchscreens. Floating windows, inbuilt keyboard, nice routingmatrix (audio & midi), clear gui, dragable fx slots, dragable Channels, sends, one of the best auv3 browser on ios imho ( sorted either in alphabetical order, company name or last used), patches from auv3 apps can be saved in AUM, fileplayer, recording files etc.
A product of a genius. And utterly stable.
Fast loading and setup. When inspiration strikes I mostly launch AUM. And I have most major DAWs and stuff (incl. Cubasis 2 & 3, Nanostudio 1 & 2, Beatmaker 2 & 3, Audio Evolution Studio, Auria Pro, Garageband, this Roland thingy, Ape matrix and maybe a few more).
Ape Matrix is nice too especially if you are into modulation of exposed auv3 parameters.
But AUM is what works best for me.
And "modular". Need a piano roll? Launch Atom or xequence. Need a step sequencer or arp? Load Aphelian or....
Unfortunately I have no idea how ot compares to mainstage.

I have AUM and AudioBus. AudioBus I always find very confusing as a host and with AUM I had many stability issues.
My favourite currently is Camelot:

Thanks so far, especially mentioning other alternatives.
I forgot to mention that MPE support is crucial, I have seen that Camelot would do that. Is it also true for AUM and Ape Matrix? I guess I will skip Audiobus for now. Ape is a dev I adore, thanks for the hint...

I don´t have any MPE device so I can´t comment on this. But here is what brambos (ios developer) wrote in the audiobus forum
"... MPE is backwards compatible with the regular old MIDI protocol. It just makes different use of the channel allocation, but doesn't add any new commands or message types. So any app that just routes MIDI between an MPE source and an MPE destination, such as AUM and AB3, will pass through MPE MIDI without any issue whatsoever
However, once you start messing with the MIDI signals - e.g. through MIDI filters - you may mess up the MPE specific aspects of the MIDI messages. So any MIDI filters or plugins you use should ideally be MPE compatible."
Maybe apematrix could be interesting for you because you can modulate so many things. This could become interesting if those modulators could be controlled via MPE.

Do you want to play live or record your mpe performance in midi or audio? In Aum, you can play live from your Linnstrument to mpe plugins easily. ( just set : midi in to any). Record is another story.

I try to send mpe from Aum to bitwig: it seams some channel are missing when the mpe channels rotate. Edit: I change my midi interface ( midisport vs umc404 to fireface midi) and AUM send mpe normally
All is working with Audiobus.just set in & out to all midi channels.

Never heard of it and cannot find it in the Appstore. Do you have a link?

Just thought, oh did I post this? I had the same words typed in already and luckily realized the "2" was what the appstore confused...; - )
I actually had installed the light version and forgot about it. I got one of the worst crashes ever by adding more and more synths. Finally the iPad stalled completely and wouldn't react at all, even a forced shut down would not work. In the end it just rebooted after a while...
