I have to say I'm really enjoying my Sphere membership. It's just a really useful and enjoyable experience. The Workspaces are excellent for collaborative projects, the whole learning area with Gregor and Joe is great, the back up and storage useful and the general vibe is spot on. Thumbs up from me. I'm a Studio One and Notion user so the value for me is also excellent as I can access the whole Notion orchestra.

What are you gonna do tonight? And where's The Brain?

Post

Let's enjoy a few moments of silence... before the usual horde of subscription haters chime in.

I don't really think it's all about hate, but more of a warning for what comes along with it...

Ah, yes, because noone knows about it, and everyone has to be informed by "caring" people. ;)

Nah man, the motives are far less selfless than you put it. Someone dislikes subscription - he rants. Which is fine, but, it's mostly becoming really inflationary, and some are really making a religion out of it. I dislike subscriptions as well, but, I won't invade every thread, and piss people off who care for the company and its products. Especially when it is merely optional, like in this or in Reason's case. It's a bit ridiculous.

Stereotyping is bad in all forms, sorry I must exclude myself from this conversation.

I'm not stereotyping, it's my experience here (and elsewhere).

Of course there are people who merely state their opinion as well, without causing drama, arguments, without trying to religiously evangelizing people, and without dozens and dozens of pages of BS. Unfortunately, that usually goes down in such threads.

Just ask yourself how many threads and posts you see the likes of pinki's original post. And then ask yourself how many posts and pages of rants from the always same people you see here. Then you might get a better picture.

Wow I had no idea I was starting such a maelstrom. I just like Sphere.

FWIW, my first post was a partly joking submission. Just wanted to point out how such discussions often develop. I don't know if it happens here. I hope not. I hope someone can still say "I like something", and isn't faced with pages of rants and negativity.

I actually had the nick 'Pinky' in some SGI forums

(more than 15 years already, guess I'm old). The other forums (like nekochan) doesn't exist any more

I see your point, but I guess it's about as equally as offensive for certain companies to try and sell you stuff you don't really need. I believe Reason Studios is trying to sell you on a weekly sound pack extravaganza that is supposed to help you sound like you, while using other peoples' sound packs.

That makes about zero sense, maybe make your own sound packs to sound more like you? And twiddle and tweak to the end of day?

As for Sphere, it's sounding a bit like a paid community or club membership fee without the workout equipment. But, I'm sure some people tight on monthly cash can squeeze $20 a month rather then saving up and buying something they can actually afford.
