Hello,

just wondering... having now ValhallaDelay + SuperMassive + Space Modulator, besides the convenience - which is actually a kind of hassle sometimes - to have it all in a single plugin, is there something that Ubermod still can do and the combination of the others don't?

Thanks,
Mario

It would still be best if you wanted the multi tap specific sounds, not sure you could do those with the other combination. Bit of a niche thing maybe so for general modulation, delay etc you'd manage fine without it.

Personally there's a couple of presets that I use all the time such as the tapeverb one; dirty, murky verb effect which I haven't replicated with other effects really.

The name already gives it away here...
none of the other three has the sort of flexible dual modulation that Übermod has - it's also more flexible and versatile in other regards too. I guess it can approximate most of what the others do, however not the other way around.

Agreed they are all very different, yet they all do tend to have a little crossover in presets. I think a lot of the presets are designed to provide the max variety of tones within each effect.

Ubermod is indeed very unique and certainly better at doing what it does than the other "delays." Yet the others do also include modulation controls.

Considering the pricing and low CPU usage, just use them all!

Just not at all in the way Übermod does.

No, those are definitely not replacements for Ubermod. The modulation and dispersion (along with other things like distortion) happen inside the feedback path, so you can't get the same result just by using individual components in series.

Ubermod has 16 stereo taps with skew +spread settings , insane mod range (overmod )for pitch shift duties etc..
While these are more or less also to be found in space modulator etc..every vallhalla plugin is unique in it's own way .
Eyeball exchanging
Soul calibrating ..frequencies

There are lots of things that ubermod does that you won't be getting out of those other three plugins.

Would love to see a “simpler” easier to dial in modulation plugin from Valhalla in the style of the Vintage Verb/V Delay, with different modes of chorus/flange/phaser/trem/pan etc.

Maybe even just a dedicated Valhalla Phaser with various vintage/modern stomp style phasers.

They do have a simple modulation plugin which sounds fantastic

I would also love to see a dedicated Phaser from them as well.

It's literally and explicitly mentioned in the title (and the first post) of this thread.

i own most of them. ubermod is a different sound, and is better at multitap modulations, the delay is more of a character plugin. if you are one that wants as few plugins as possible, i would just get the delay. and, being that supermassive is a single delay line from the delay, not sure why you have both tbh. space modulator is one of the best flanger/phaser plugins i've ever heard tho!

In defense of metalifuxx's original ask, Space Modulator doesn't really sound like vintage BBD choruses so there's definitely room in the Valhalla line for a simple modulation effect that covers vintage modulation units. You can kind of tweak ValhallaDelay to get there with the BBD modes, but SpaceModulator is it's own separate thing. In the past I've also asked for a "ValhallaVintageMod" that covers things like the Boss CE-1, CE-2, Roland Dimension-D, Juno, Chorus-Echo, maybe things like the DOD FX65, Maxon CS-505, Pearl CH-02, maybe some analog rack choruses and flangers, stuff in that realm. Those old choruses sound great on synths and rhodes and can really cheese-up electric guitars.

Regarding a phaser: I'd like one too but I think I remember Sean saying he's not a fan of phasers so that wasn't likely. That was a while back though.

Have you ever used SuperMassive? SuperMassive is it's own thing. Not a cut down version of the delay. It may have stemmed out of the original delay project, but what you get with it is closer to the Eventide Blackhole alogirthm at times than ValhallaDelay. It does those super-massive space reverbs detuning into the gravity well type of thing so amazingly well. If you're just saying "not sure why you need both" then I think you haven't spent enough time with SuperMassive. It's an INCREDIBLE freebie and would've made an equally incredible paid plugin.

So yeah, take my word for it: everyone would benefit from having SuperMassive in their plugin arsenal and don't listen to anyone who says it's just a cut down ValhallaDelay. That's just not at all true.

Where is the pitch control in Ubermod? I looked just now but didn't find it. I do see some presets in a pitched category.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.
