I have an old Apogee One (the first one) interface and it's worked really well for a long time so I haven't felt the need to replace it. I only use a direct guitar or bass for audio input. Logic will have the message about the audio device being removed. It seems random and seems like it only started happening recently. Could this be the USB cable going bad or is it time to update my audio interface?. I'm using the newest version of Logic on iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014). Thanks in advance.

Are you on macOS Catalina or Big Sur?

Post

I'm still on Catalina. I'm waiting since the last time I upgraded to Catalina, I seemed to have quite a few problems.

Post

Yes, I'm waiting too for good reason.

So you are on macOS Catalina because latest Logic version 10.6.x requires it.

Could be the USB cable (interface <-> computer) is responsible for the malfunction. Apogee One is bus powered!

But next: If not done then I would update Apogee One driver/software to keep up with Catalina.

I'm pretty sure I have the latest Apogee Software, but I'll double check. I'm trying a different USB cable now.

So far it’s working, but the disconnects have been inconsistent so not sure it’s fixed.
