Possible Weird Mouse Behaviour in Reaper (cheese not reuired)

Not sure what's happening here. I have updated to the latest. I booted up to continue working on my track and I get this weird bracket on the cursor line. Is that intentional? I wouldn't ordinarily ask but the program has become somewhat erratic: for some reason, without changing any preferences, it presumes a double click input where none was given. I checked to see if it was my mouse, but this isn't happening in any other software or in the OS in general. Can anyone help? Thanks

The bracket is a new feature. Shows you where anything you paste will go (maybe you have no tracks selected so not obvious where the content would end up). just a guide really.
No idea about your mouse I'm afraid.

For Reaper 6.25, in preferences use the Find box and enter:

Try reinstalling your mouse driver. I had an issue with Reaper not recognizing a first mouse click in certain situations. This fixed it for me.
