I got a pretty good sample going in WaveLab, and I'm actually 'playing' MDA's Sub Synth manually shifring from 96hz down to 64hz - sounds cool to me. So I want the 'down and up hz shifts', I practice with the mouse and loop, and get pretty good with it. I set up my trusty SP-808 phrase sample to grab the output from WaveLab, no probs. I edit the loop on the 808, and it sounds sweet and smooth as it loops. However, when I use the .WAV convertor to put the sample back into WaveLab, the loops not a good loop? It's bang on to the BPM as I had it, and I nudged the points in and out slightly, and used the crossfade looper... I'll be damned if I can get it to sound as good as I did on my SP-808. :(

So I guess to re-sample the 808 into WaveLab? Does anyone else have this trouble? :?

Hi Steven,
I don't understand.. Is it that the loop is off or the quality is crappy? sorry, I don't mean to bother you,but I'm like the loopmaster if the points are off.

You already have the sample in Wavelab, why the hell are you taking it into the 808 to edit it? :?

As amazing as WaveLab is, the SP-808 is in alot of cases BETTER than WaveLab for mangling, phrasing, layering, effecting, etc. More readily that is. ;)

But the 808 and/or it's RDAC compression can audibly 'clamp' the loop points better I find. There's also a switch you can put on if using multiple clips in the phrase sequencer that's kind've a 'realtime' waveform restorer. It's really a marvelous unit.

Just wondered if other folks find that their A5000 or EMU or Akai's et al can handle samples better than WaveLab or DS-404's etc. I think that WaveLab is the most accurate by far. But sometimes something like a SP-808 gives that 'psuedo perfection' without much labor.

And thanks Tuz, but I think I got it. BTW - I'm using your little 'gift' in it as well. If you thought DJ The Freak was awesome... Hold on to your ass buddy! :D
