While I am a huge fan of Wavesequencing I am not a fan of the modular spaghetti at least at first glance.
I'll try the demo but it's only a 61 meg download so unless the full version is a lot larger this is not wavesequencing it's more likely waveform sequencing. Sweeping through a string of short duration waveforms rather than full size multi-samples just as Wusikstation or Wavestation.
But I'll give the demo a fair go tomorrow and see how it performs.....

"MULTIPLE SYNTHESIS TYPES
Classic mono and stereo ‘digital’ and ‘virtual analog’ oscillators with mono or stereo unison detuning and wave-shaping which enables drastic sonic character changes from the basic wave-forms.
Easy to use 4 operator FM (phase modulation with feedback) with 12 algorithms & multi-operator output mix, pre-selected list of useful modulation-operator ratios and master modulation depth control.
Wave-sequencing oscillators with up to 32 steps of oscillator configuration (including pitch offset, waveform, wave-shape depth, unison detunes, balance and level) with smooth cross fading via wave-sequence position modulation - save your own, and load ready made sequences.
Wave-sequenced 4 operator FM - with the same features as classic oscillator wave-sequencing but enabling sequences of 4 operator FM configurations (also with save and load capability).
Plucked string model with damping, distortion and stereo unison detunes.
Physical modeling flute oscillator with smooth note/pipe configuration transitions.
Sample playback with looping - can loop single cycle waveforms to create custom oscillator tones.
Multi-sample (sound font) oscillator enabling import of sfz/sf2 files."
Surprised it was largely ignored here for so long...with kvr modular fetish, but some said cause was independent developer...hopefully Tracktion backing will make folk more comfortable

Yes it's a hybrid synth with....."Wave-sequencing oscillators with up to 32 steps". It may be the developer's name I wouldn't know but it's also one of the types of synthesis it can do.bermudagold wrote: Mon Mar 22, 2021 2:36 am wavesequencer is the developer's name....its a hybrid workstation synth
So obviously it's a wavesequencing synth just as Dune 3 is a wavetable synth even though it can also do VA and Fm
Looking forward to giving Hyperion a go tomorrow.

Your first post sounded like you were inferring from the thread title that this was being marketed/labelled as a wave sequencing synth called hyperion and expecting a particular set of functionality...all i was trying to tell you was that i don't think that was their intention...if you look at the developers kvr threads, youtube videos, and website he goes by the moniker "wavesequencer"....so hyperion from wavesequencer...his next plugin could be wavesequencer modal filter and have nothing to do with wavesequencing.Teksonik wrote: Mon Mar 22, 2021 4:00 am So obviously it's a wavesequencing synth just as Dune 3 is a wavetable synth even though it can also do VA and Fm![]()
And it says it does handle multisamples not just single cycle waveforms, whether any are included in the demo patches or not...let us know whether it can do the wusik/wavestation use case....cheers

No I was simply referring to this in the original post of the thread:bermudagold wrote: Mon Mar 22, 2021 7:37 am Your first post sounded like you were inferring from the thread title that this was being marketed/labelled as a wave sequencing synth called hyperion and expecting a particular set of functionality.
The wavesequencing part is what interests me since I have plenty of other synths with "digital, virtual analog, fm".FigBug wrote: Sun Mar 21, 2021 4:27 pm Multilayer, modular synth with digital, virtual analog, fm, and wave-sequenced oscillators.
Synths with true wavesequencing are much more rare hence are something that get me excited.

I guess I missed it back then, but this thread makes it seems as if it is brand new from Tracktion.bermudagold wrote: Mon Mar 22, 2021 12:19 pmnot really...third beta was open invite as advertised on kvr 9 months ago...youtube videos been up since then tooExamigan wrote: Mon Mar 22, 2021 10:10 amWasn't it just released?bermudagold wrote: Mon Mar 22, 2021 2:36 am Surprised it was largely ignored here for so long...with kvr modular fetish, but some said cause was independent developer...hopefully Tracktion backing will make folk more comfortable

I seem to be getting lots of SSL errors just trying to get to the Tracktion marketplace site to download the demo, in both Firefox and Chrome.
