Just got an OTO BAM delivered. I really like the sound of this thing. Gives some "ValhallaVintageVerb in a box" vibes, which is exactly what I hoped it would do.

Anyone else have one? I'm still in the honeymoon phase but I honestly couldn't be happier from a sound perspective. Seriously thinking about selling the Eventide Space now.

Only downsides: the minimal UI. Rather than just tell you the algorithm name and/or current setting, you're looking at a series of dots. Example: when selecting the Reverb Type, dot 1 is room, dot 2 is hall, etc. then when setting the filter dot 1 on the top is one thing, and dot 2 on the bottom is another...Just a bit silly in these days of cheap displays, but I suspect these guys did the minimal design thing as more of an aesthetic choice.

don't have one, but the oto bam stuff seems to be loved by those that have them. i believe they're not easy to get hold of due to low production numbers?

the design does seem to be the same across the range, or very close from what ive seen.

enjoy! :tu:

Yeah, I picked up the Space because the BAM wasn't available, but I threw in a notification at Perfect Circuit for when it became available and ordered as soon as the in-stock email hit my inbox. The Eventide still does some things the Space doesn't, particularly the out-there verbs, Blackhole, Shimmer, and even a Spring, but when it comes to old-school reverb tones, the Space can't compete with the BAM.

The thing really sounds beautiful. Using the hall at damn near 100% wet and it still sounds great.

Sometimes you have to wait a bit, but they will continuously become available apparently. I've had it on my list for a while, have yet to actually pull the trigger on it.

Has anyone heard from OTO lately? I discovered that there were firmware updates for the BAM (and BIM) released in March. However, the updates are not downloadable from the site. You have to email support with your serial number. I did this a week ago and have heard nothing back so far.

Update: Just got a reply with the update. For the curious, the 1.5 update contains MIDI bugfixes.
