So I read some articles about single cycle waveform but still confused 😕

What is the right length for it? 1024 samples? Less? More? If so why?

I want to create some out of own samples or a nifty editor for it.

Right now I'm experimenting with Zebras record function as well as Operators asm files to create scw but still confused?

So what is the right length to make a scw suitable for all (a lot of?) Samplers?

Many (if not 'most') samplers which will load a scw use 1024, or even 2048. Just refer to their respective manuals. Many will load various lengths, which again would be disclosed in their manual. SCW's are also used to make wavetables, and some wavetable synths can use various sized scw in the 'table', but again many use 1024 by default.

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

There is no one size fits all, it depends what sort of a synth it is. Generally, the more samples there are in a single cycle, the better the precision and less aliasing (particularly in wavetable synths). In recent times, 2048 samples seems to have become a sort of a standard, at least in the virtual instruments world.
