Anyone tried this demo yet? Claims to have true sidechaining...I'll try it myself later when I get home from work...

I beta'ed this one and even when I am not a great knowledgable compressor-user, this one certainly has flair and character and has some surprising sounds to it as well

It's a nice compressor with filter-sidechain, 2 stereo input (true) sidechain, and some versatile processing modes. Definately worth checking out. When it's out.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Thanks guys
The plug itself is now ready. All that remains is finishing the manual. Shouldn't be too long.
regards,
Rune
Yes, there was a bug with some settings not getting saved within a song. It has now been fixed, but it did delay the whole schedule a bit.erm.. which demo??? it's not released yet...

Damn, but you make some good-looking GUIs!
Also sounds extremely interesting. I was about to buy GCO1, but I might just wait a little bit and see how this baby sounds (of course, I could get both, hehehe).
Does CubaseSX support 4input plugins? The stereo sidechain is the thing that really makes me drool over Compadre...that's the big selling point to me.

I don't understand what it does that's different from other comps - what does this mean?
and what is sidechaining exactly? - it's come up a few times but I've still to understand what it is.
Code: Select all

I believe you can route the output from two or more audio outs into the compressor resulting in one audio output that compresses both of the channels. Most commonly used for bassline and kickdrums...aMUSEd wrote:I don't understand what it does that's different from other comps - what does this mean?

someone will no doubt prove me wrong.

The gain reduction is triggered by the sidechain (ie: kick), and applied to the other audio channel (ie: bass).

yeah that's what it's all aboutbrianbrian wrote:The gain reduction is triggered by the sidechain (ie: kick), and applied to the other audio channel (ie: bass).
so when kick and bass share too much of the same frequencies they get in each others way most of the time..... the side chain compresor gives your bass the capabilitty to duck and hide everytime it sees a kick drum.....
this way the kick drum is more prominent in your mix
DX plugins like db-audioware's compressor have had that feature for a long time....

And then there's the 'shaper' button which brings about some crazy and weird sounds
I've heard it, just hang on to your seats on that one

Another beta tester here as well...
I think this little beastie is terriic. I am lucky enough to own several very nice compressors, and I've got to say...
Compadre does some things better and faster than the others....
For a heavy, pumping/punching sound this is what I use.
I think Rune did a great job!
