So I'm a big fan of the Vertigo Sound stuff. I love the hardware, and I actually think that the plugins capture the sound of that extremely well.

I use the VSC-3 and VSE-2 daily, personally I don't think there's anything better. However, there's always been a missing link - the VSM module. I have a license for the Plugin Alliance version of the VSM module, but it never really scratches my itch (it's by no means bad though).

Looking at the Vertigo Sound website this morning I found something very interesting...

Yup, it looks like their own version of the VSM is on the way! Can't wait to try it out. Hopefully they will do a pack with all three plugins for a decent discount!

Interesting. I have the VSC-3 and VSE-2 also though I never use the VSE-2. I've been wondering (if) when they would do their version of the VSM.Thanks for the info.

Are they really worth their price tag?
Bit heavy, aren't they?

Their plugins aren't cheap that's for sure but I believe they are worth it. The quality is definitely there and if I remember correctly, the VSC-2 from Plugin Alliance was originally priced around $200 and the difference between the two was obvious to me so I bought it.
Not a resource hog but definitely not particularly light on cpu either I might add but that's what you get sometimes with really good plugins.

I think it was sort of inevitable they would do their own version of the VSM, but it was a matter of when. They've been quiet on the software front for good bit of time now, so it makes sense they've been working on something. I absolutely love their VSC-3 plugin and use it all the time. If their VSM is anything close to the quality of existing plugins and no reason to think it wouldn't be, then I'll wind up purchasing it immediately.

The PA version has been getting much more use since the update allowing a larger GUI, but if it's anything like Vertigo's VSC, their version of VSM will likely sound better than PA's. For me, the price is worth it, especially on the intro offer which has been typical of Vertigo thus far.

The only thing I'm not too fond of is there licensing system. I wish they would have gone iLok if using something other than a typical serial number or even a C/R system. I had an issue where my VSC-3 license randomly stopped working for whatever reason. I had to contact support and they took care of it, but the system lacks the ability for you deactivate a license and try reactivating it again. You have to wait for them to issue a new license. I'd much rather have a different system in place, but that won't stop me from buying VSM or other future plugins.
