Zoom meeting gain staging

Not so theoretical question about proper gain staging with a 3.5mm headset with a Realtek onboard chip as everybody is in zoom meeting hell.

Do you go +20 db in mic boost and then do a + in ADC summing mixer amp?
OR
Do you go +30 db in mic boost and then do a - in ADC summing mixer amp?

Right click to get mic levels to show up as db (on my computer 0 db is 47).
