Funny thing - after I rendered my track I can't open project file, because it crashes on startup, so I can't post details about a track Probably gonna need to open reaper project with all tracks disabled/offline; it's not synthesizers problem as far as I can understand.
Anyway... In the past I had weird relationship with Full Bucket synths. I felt that they are limited to what you can achieve with them; because they have analog sound it was hard to create modern sounding track with them (you may say that I'm using wrong tools for a wrong task and you would be correct). Since rules allowed to choose synthesizer, I tried the ones I haven't tried in the past and then stumbled upon ModulAir. In my opinion this is the most powerful synthesizer Full Bucket has made so far. Just the fact that you can set phase to reset, was game-changer for me after trying other Full Bucket synths. I really liked working with it, exploring the sounds it can create (and oh boy it can make plethora of sounds) and I haven't even touched wavetables. It was also my first experience with modular synthesis, which was an extra challenge. I haven't found any bugs. My only complaint would be that it takes many mouse clicks to do simple things (for example making supersaw), but I guess problem lies not within a synth itself, but in modular synthesis as a whole, because you need to make a lot of routing by yourself.
In the end, I enjoyed making a track with ModulAir and want to say thank you to Full Bucket for making this great synthesizer.

If anyone's interested at this point in the competition, I have compiled a few of my ModulAir presets and uploaded them to the KVR product page. Mostly bread & butter, some Juno-stuff and a few experiments in every instrument group, except for leads and bells - all 63 slots were taken when their turn came up!

I have to say, with only limited experience of Full Bucket synths (playing around a bit with Scrooo and Qyooo a few months back), that what I really liked about MPS was precisely its limitations. It really forced me to get creative, dig around in the DAW and my own skills, for ways to make the limited number of parameters sound varied and interesting (sonically & musically).
Other people can be the judge of whether I actually succeeded in the interesting and varied, but for me the process of using MPS and having to dig deep, and get creatively conceptual with it in order to build up a track, was really rewarding.
I find myself curious about other Full Bucket synths now, which is a bit of an unexpected turn to where I thought my musical sound ambitions were heading - always good to make a strange turn or two in creative life
So yeah, fun times!

Disparity together, carefully aligned, is not disparity altogether. Offsets reset and unset settings. Be it for creation or recreation, symmetry and asymmetry, similarity and selfsame, necessitate one another.
1 instance of Tricent mk III
Effects:
JS Volume Adjustment
MReverbMB
MStereoSpread
MStereoExpander
Lurssen Mastering Console
AUPeakLimiter

Just noticed that my track has some weird clicky sound at 4:18 (probably clipping). I've only noticed it only when listened through headphones... Dang it! Track clipping, can't open project, since we can't render individual tracks for consistency and I'm using sample and hold LFO I'm gonna have to render my track few times (again) until i'm satisfied with riffs sound and, in the end, upload track to soundcloud by removing the current one... Fun times!

Hi all,
This time I made something differnt. Usually, I lay my focus on the composition. But when I played around with Thebloo, I was totally trapped by a sequence, which I did together with the delay. This was so hypnotic to me, that I knew I had to do composition wise a very reduced track. On the other side I used more automation than ever before. The track should have this ongonig feeling that this sequence will run forever.

Made in Reaper v5.99
18 instances of Thebloo used.
Dynamic: Presswerk, Transpire, Maxwell Smart
Filter: ReaEQ, MQ 57
Satturation: Thrillseeker XTC, Thrillseeker VBL
Delay: NastyDLA
Stereo: DD AutoPan, MidSideMangle
Reverb: Verberate 2, Ultraspace
Analyser: SPAN, Youlean Loudnessmeter

My entry for this month:
https://soundcloud.com/formfisch/periscope-osc147
I chose the Tricent mkIII because it was one of the simpler synths on offer, I don't like complicated stuff. And I gotta say, it sounds really nice. Despite the original hardware being from 1982, to me it has a 70s vibe, so I tried to make some 70s electronic music with it. Not that I know anything about 70s electronic music, so take it with a grain of salt
Made in Cubase 10.5 with 16 instances of Trident
FX apart from DAW internal: HornetTape, Fircomp/Fircomp2, Klanghelm DC8C3 + DC1A3, Analog Obsession Britpressor, TB Barricade, Voxengo Teote, Valhalla FreqEcho + Delay + VintageVerb + Supermassive, Native Instruments Replika, Exponential Audio PhoenixVerb

Hi All,
Here's my entry for this month:-
https://soundcloud.com/milksterx/sprites-jets
Made in Ableton 11 Suite with 38 instances of the Blooo.
Native FX used: Reverb, Delay, Echo, Filter Delay, Spectral Time (no pitch shifting), Auto-pan, Auto-filter, EQ8, Utility, Arpeggiator, Saturator
3rd party FX: Wider, Free clip, kHs Distortion, Rift Filter Lite, Wags STFU-1 Volume Reducer, Dimension Expander, Blackbox HG-2, Ozone 9 Elements. Valhalla Supermassive, MAAG EQ4, OTT, Elysia Alpha Compressor, FF Pro-L2
I chose the blooo after having some issues with modulair, I liked the fairly straight forward interface and layout and the dual stereo filters. Some of the controls on the UI were a bit annoying to tweak and sometimes patches seemed to break requiring a new load of the VST/ patch but overall i really enjoyed creating sounds with it.
Hope you enjoy!

Here's my submission, "Once I was a Dancing Prince of Light".
It's based around a piano-ish patch and a 7/4 chord progression in F dorian. Sometimes just setting these frames in music theory helps me focus. Then I have rules to follow and also rules to break if I need to. I guess the genre is some kind of soft rock... Something?
https://soundcloud.com/thefrozen-sea/on ... e-of-light
The song was made using 14 instances of the "Qyooo" synthesizer. Other plugins used:
Cubase stock "Frequency" EQ: 13 instances
Waves "Puigchild" compressor: 6 instances
Waves "Kramer HLS" channel strip: 1 instance
Soundtoys "Echoboy" delay: 1 instance
Soundtoys "Littleplate" reverb: 1 instance
Cubase stock Limiter: 1 instance
Recorded, mixed and mastered in Cubase Pro 9.

Here's the latest track from DoctorBob. Inspired by music from around 100 years ago. Hope you like it. Only mild EQ on all the tracks. Some compression on kick and snare c/o OTT. Mastering only has a little EQ and gain staging and mild compression from Satson CS and finally a little magic from Ozone.
PS. The waveform looks odd, there is no big gain in the last section. Please download the .wav for better a listening experience.

And tap my feet I did. I love the feel of this one, the piano, the pacing, the style--I did not expect this style of song to come from that synth--really cool.doctorbob wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 6:59 pm Enjoy, tap yer feet!

Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.
