CZ V custom waveforms

I notice there are two separate entries when making a custom waveform: Base and Target. Can you explain how these work because I can't find anywhere in the manual. Thanks

The Base function is used when DCW is at 0, the Target function when DCW is at 100, when in between 0 and 100 it's an interpolation of the two functions (represented by the blue line).
The principle of PD synthesis is that you apply a function to a base waveform, here it's a cosine if I recall, and the function is "morphing" in function of the DCW value. Using the custom waveform, you can create your own "morphing" using a different base and target functions.

For example if you have a linear function from 0 to 1 you will hear the sine, if it's not linear it will be distorted (you can see the result on the screen in the center of the hardware part)

Yes, a straight line from [0,0] to [1,1] for base and target will mean only using the sine, whereas if you add points or slope to the target (or the base) function, you will see the waveform evolving when you move the DCW knob

I find every custom wave i make just sounds like a renaissance wind instrument
