Looks good and the demos sound good but since there's no discounted intro price I can take my time. I don't think an intro price discount would have killed them though.

Who actually developed it? I'd be curious if they did this in-house or just contracted out Nembrini or some other company.

D*rk will take care of it: 29$ in due time...

Dirk? What has PA got to do with it?

I would assume it's based on the same modelling architecture as this one:

Ampeg and Line 6 share the same Yamaha Guitar Group building in CA

According to a Line 6 employee over at TGP, members of the Line 6 / Helix team worked on the plugin, as you might expect given that both are owned by Yamaha.

As is Steinberg, hence my guess that it is a variation of their bass-amp sim... but I wasn't aware of them now owning Line 6 too...

No fun for the Dirk trolls this time I'm afraid.

Sounds good but not for 200 buckeroos. The IK which I already own sounds good enough for me, I tend to stick to HW bass stuff anyway.
I lost my heart in Cap de Creus

I gave the demo a good try and the Ampeg does sound very nice. That said, I then compared it to my go-to bass plugin Neural Parallax first and Darkglass second and for me, the Ampeg can't touch either. That's not to say The Ampeg doesn't sound like an Ampeg. It does. I'm just saying for the overall bass tone I look for, This Ampeg wouldn't sway me to leave Parallax OR Darkglass as my go to for sheer bass power and most important to me,cut through the mix clarity. NO other bass plugin so far can compare to those two as far as I'm concerned.
